Sgf. George Robinson Parafroop Veteran Killed in Italy Sergeant George Robinson, only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson, 127 Mulvihill avenue, who packed much adventure in his 20 years has been reported killed in action in Italy. George Robinson tried to enlist in 1940, he' was 18 but was not accepted until May of 1941.

He joined the R.C.O.C., and was. later transferred to the R.CA.S.C, and went to Camp Borden for training. While there he volunteered for paratroop service in a new outfit that was organizing to be attached to the American army for training. He went to Fort Benning, Georgia, and from there to hen to Camp Bradford. Virginia, where he received training in commando and invasion tactics.

His unit was described' as com bining the. best qualities of a paratrooper, a commando, an infantryman and a guerilla. It was composed highly-- trained fighters from Canada and the United States. In one of his letters to his parents, he said, "They laughed at bur; funny pants and dirty faces but they are not laughing Sergeant Robinson had his initiation into warfare when, he took part in the raids on Kiska: From this foray he sent home Japanese souvenirs, a bush knife 1 that the Japs used to slash limbs i.fron trees to make camouflage. tawa Tech where he took an active -part in sports, playing hockey and ba'seball on' school teams. At the time of enlistment he was learning the plumbing trade. He was a member of St. George's church. Surviving him, besides 'his parents are four sisters; Mrs.

Donald Doxsee, Mrs. S. Edmonds, and Alma Robinson. Ottawa; and Mrs. J.

Nicholls, Halifax; two nephewrs. Lornie Doxsee and Ronnie Edmonds. and ne niece. Donna Doxsee. Ottawa.

A- favorite grandmother. Mrs. P. Robinson lives at Woodlawn, Ont-, in her 83rd year. His father is employed by the Department of Public Works at the Experimental Farm.

Requiem high mass will be chanted at George's Church on Monday, March 13th, at, 7 a.m. Edward Lunney Prominent Farmer Dies i -A widely-known, farmer and life-long resident of, the Kinburn district. Edward Lunney, of Third of FiUroy, died in an Ottawa hospital last night in his 56th year, after an illness. of several months' duration. A son of the.

late Hugh Lunney and his wife, Margaret Hourigan, Mr. Lunney was born and educated' at Kinburn, where he was an active farmer until the time of his illness. In Pakenham. in 1921, he married Elizabeth O'Neill, who sur-. vives.

He was a devout member of St. Peter Celestine's Church at Pakenham and a member of the Holy JCame Society of that parish. Surviving, besides his wife, are six son's. LAC. Gerard Lunney, Dartmouth: N.S.; John -Hugh.

-Thomas, Edward, Anthony and Alphonsus, at home; one daughter, Mary, at home; three brothers, Bernard Lunney, South Mountain, Ont; James Lunney, Pakenham, and Alex Lunney, Ottawa, and two sisters. Mrs. A. Nugent, Pak- enham, and Miss A. Lunney, To- ronto.

The funeral will be held from his residence. Third Line of FiUroy. on Saturday morning at 9.30 o'clock, to St. Peter Celestine's Church. Pakenham, for solemn mass of requiem at -10 o'clock.

Burial will take place. in the par- ish cemetery. ROBERT COTIE.I RICHMOND, March 8. (Special) The death occurred at his home in Castleford on Satur-; day of Robert Andrew Cotie in hn 79th year. Although in failing health for some Mr.

Cotie's death came as a shock to his family and friends. Born in Shawville. Quebec, he received his -education in the local school. He was married there 48' years ago to the former Mary McConeghy. who survives.

He later moved to Castleford where he was employed for more than 40 years with the Upper Ottawa Improvement Company. He leaves to mourn, his widow; even sons, Lome, of military hospital, London. a patient since the Great War; Versal and Clifton, of Arnprior; Carman, of Castleford: Harper, of Richmond; Garnet and Elmer, of Ottawa; two daughters. Miss Lillian, of Ottawa; (Evelyn) Mrs. Ivan McMillan, of Horton.

Cornwall Airman Presumed Dead CORNWALL, Ont, March (Special) Pilot Officer Joseph Earl Monahan, reported missing after air operations over Germany on June 1943, is now for official purposes presumed dead, according to word received by his sister, Mrs. C. -A. Milne, Ottawa, and his aunt. Miss Nora Heagle, Cornwall.

His sister was the former Miss Patricia Monahan, of Cornwall. I The young flyer went overseas in July. 1942, and in February, 1943, was commissioned as pilot officer, advancing from the rank of sergeant observer. He was born in Montreal on December 2, 1921, his parents being the late Mr. and Mrs.

Another crew member attempted unsuccessfully to extricate his mate who by this time had fainted and dropped part of the way through the bomb bay doors.

"When I i came back again he had slipped farther through the said Kyler. "Every time we tried to1 move him he would go down a little more."
