I I I I I I I I To NE 2 Herald al Classified Ads THURSDAY, MAY 22, 1986 D11 Announcements 020 Deaths BELYEA Helen Reynolds Belyea, 0.C., Ph.D., D.Sc., LL.D., F.R.S.C., passed away after a lengthy illness at the Bethany Care Centre May 20, 1986 at the age of 73 years. Second daughter late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. Belyea of Saint John, New Brunswick, by her younger sister, Mrs.

Constance MacLeod of Charlottetown, P.E.I. and three nephews, William, David and Ian MacLeod. She was predeceased by her older sister Mrs. Arnold (Leonora) Kee. Helen graduated from Dalhousie University in 1934 and received her doctorate in Geology from Northwestern University, Chicago in 1939, after which she taught at private schools in Victoria and Toronto.

From 1943 to 1945, she served in WRCNS and was stationed at Moncton and Ottawa. She joined the Geological Survey of Canada in 1945 and transferred to Calgary in 1950, carrying on geological research into the Devonian System at the Institute of Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology until her retirement in 1975. She was Co-chairman the First International Symposium on the Devonian System, sponsored by the Alberta Society of Petroleum Geologists in 1966. She was honoured many times for her research, having been made a Fellow Royal Society of Canada in 1964. She received an honourary Doctor of Science from the University of Windsor in 1976, an honourary Doctor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1976, was featured in 1975 in the National Museum Exhibition portraying Canadian Women in Science and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1976.

For her work as Chairperson of the Committee on the Prehistoric Park, she was appointed on Honorary Trustee of the Calgary Zoological Society. was a member of the Glencoe Club, the Calgary Golf and Country Club and the Women's League of the Calgary Philharmonic Society. Funeral Services will be held at Mcinnis and Holloway's "PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL" (5008 ELBOW DR. S.W.) on Friday, May 23, 1986 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Saint John, New Brunswick.

Eric Bowman of Kelowna, B.C. passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 1986 at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey, two daughters, Mrs. Layden (Richard) of Winburn, Alberta, Mrs. Marlene Fergusson (Donald), Perth, Ontario; four stepsons, Garry, Blair, Glenn and Steven Weatherall, all of Calgary; a stepdaughter Mrs.

Lori Jensen of Brooks, Alberta; a brother Roy of Victoria and eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Eric spent his childhood years in Eagle Valley, Sundre district of Alberta, where his parents farmed. He six years in the Army with the Southern Alberta Regiment before returning to Alberta and his welding trade. He was well known in Calgary, Waterton and Jumping Pound areas where he owned and operated his business, Eagle Inspection Service Limited. He and Audrey moved from Calgary to Kelowna in 1982 where they had hoped to eventually retire.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. She is survived by a son Alan of Nanaimo, B.C.; two daughters, Celia Romeyn of Montpelier, Vermont and Joan Phillips of Westfield, New Jersey; two sisters, Constance Huckvale of Edmonton and Agnes Mitchell of Calgary.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Wallace in 1934. She was born in England in 1892 and was a long time resident of Alberta. Attending St. Hilda's School for Girls in Calgary in the early 1900's.

Born in Vancouver, on July 20, 1911, Mr.

Antonio later farmed in the Olds area, before coming to Calgary in the early 1950's and had resided here since that time. He was an avid gardener. Telephone 243-8200 GUIDOLIN Mr. Gildo Guidolin of Drumheller passed away at the Drumheller Hospital on May 20, 1986. Mr. Guidolin was born July 7, 1901 in San Vito, Italy and arrived in Drumheller Valley in 1923. He is survived by his beloved wife Ernesta, two daughters, Armida (Len) Doyle and Rena (Jack) Bond, both of Calgary and one son Dino (Barbara) Guidolin of Drumheller, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph (Angela) Guidolin of Drumheller, Rolando Guidolin of Vancouver and three sisters, Anne Barlow, Rosalia (Walter) Holden of Drumheller and Miranda Hay of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gildo was predeceased by his mother and father, two brothers and a sister. Mr. Guidolin worked in the Drumheller Valley Coal Mines for sixteen years and then at the Drumheller Hospital for twenty-seven years as a gardener and maintenance man until his retirement. His gardens at the hospital were admired by many. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St.

Anthony's Catholic Church on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that friends wishing to make memorial tributes may send donations to a charity of their choice. Mr. Kreuter is also survived by nine grandchildren, Leslie, Steven, Suzanne, Thomas, Michael, Monica, David, Sean and Tiffany; a brother Dr. Joseph Kreuter in Hungary. Mr. Kreuter was born and raised in Brasso, Hungary and came to Canada to Calgary in 1956 and had resided here since.
