Bishop Snyder said that while he leaves the Brooklyn Diocese "with a heavy heart." he was looking forward "to the new opportunity to witness to Jesus' love for his people" in St Augustine. He pledged to be "open to the Spirit and willing to discern the unique needs of our times. Bishop Snyder.

The result was overwhelming in favor of a Queens post office address and the Postal Service then agreed to the changeover. Ferraro pointed out that the present Ridgewood post office at 869 Cypress Ave. and the two substations located at 69 36 Myrtle Glendale, and at 600 Woodbine Ridgewood, will continue serving residents as before but will now be considered officially in Queens, and will have the Queens zip code..
