When the police committee failed to come up with a recommendation after the subject was tabled at the August meeting, Sutton again called for action to protect kindergarten and elementary school pupils that cross heaviest traffic four times daily. The motion was made and seconded by Coiincilmen Bayard Thompson and George Bevan and promptly passed unanimously by council. Sutton further advised council to give serious consideration to taking over the expense of the recreation program next year when it is dropped by the Spring-Ford Area School authorities.

Since the State legislature is not expected to provide reimbursement to school districts as in the past, school districts will not include the program in the 1967-68 budget. Mrs. Ralph Eaches and William Startzel, residents of the 900 block of Chestnut street, were present and asked that a drainage problem at the'dead of Chestnut street be corrected. The condition was referred to Street Commissioner Malcolm McLeod to be scheduled in the street department program. A detailed report of extensive street repairs and improvements was read by G.

A 41 foot area between the business and a garage will be cleared of shrubs to permit cars to park there. THE TOWNSHIP commi.v sioners, represented by Attorney Victor J. Roberts, maintained that Miller had to abide by the township ordinances and build sidewalk and curbing as it is built on Monroe street east of his husine.ss, to provide a walk area for children attending the Pottsgrove Elementary school.

Miller stated that he had pro vided a walking area alongside of the business which was delineated on pavement by a white line. Miller said Tuesday that he can make a depressed area in the curbing on Grosstown road to have cars enter or leave there. lie stated that in allowing traffic to circle his business from Monroe street through to Grosstown road it creates a traffic hazard. What Miller originally wanted from the township was the ten foot of right of way on Monroe street, but the commissioners would not give it to him. IN NOVEMBER when the township was prepared to bo- gin building sidewalk and curb, Miller filed a complaint in court which halted the construction.

On Labor Day, 1966, attorney, Ivouis Sager, got a preliminary injunction from the Judge, when it was learned that the township was preparing to install the curbs during last week. Once again the construction was stopped until a hearing could be held. It was at these conferences late last week and Monday that Judge Ditter decided against the 46 year old Miller, who works at the Dana corporation. His wife runs the business. The saddened Miller, who claimed Tuesday that was said it will cost him approximately $700 to install tbe curbing.
