TVSCEKS ill News shows cop local Emmys about $200 million, double what it has been. The contracts run through 1983 and call for additional prime time games by both networks and several Sunday afternoon games each September by ABC. The World Series, All-Star game and playoffs in the American and National Leagues will continue to alternate each year between ABC and NBC. ceived an Emmy for his review of the movie "Sebastiane." "Buyline Betty Furness" (Ch. 4) won in the category of "instructional program" and "The Last Hurrah of Matthew Troy" 'Ch. 5), produced and moderated by Pressman, was named "outstanding discussioninterview program." "The Last Word" (Ch. 5), another discussion'inter-view program produced by Charlotte Morris, also received an Emmy. Stokes won an Emmy for his reports for "NewsCenter 4" about the controversy over the one-man play "Paul Robeson." A feature news segment on "NewsCenter 4" called "Assembly." which dealt with the New York State Assembly, received an Emmy, as did its writer-producer Anthony Van Witsen.

"The Six O'Clock Report" with Jim Jensen and RoIIand Smith (Ch. 2) was named "outstanding news program." "Big Deal on Boardwalk," a Chris Borgen investigative report on the same series, also received an Emmy. Another went to "DES." a report on the highly controversial chemical reported by John Stossel on "The Six O'Clock Report." Stewart Klein, theater and movie critic for Channel 5's "10 O'Clock News," re "Help Yourself" (Ch. 13) won an Emmy as "outstanding discussioninterview series." Awards for children's programing went to "Unicorn Tales" (Ch. -4) and director Nicholas De Noia and actor Alex Paez.

Channel 11 received an Emmy for "outstanding editorial." Citations of merit were presented to WXTV, a Spanish language, station, and WLIW, the public TV station on Long Island. Former Mayor John Lindsay was host of the award ceremonies televised live over Channel 9 from the New York Hilton Hotel. The show included entertainment by Bob Ray, Henny Young-man, Billy Saluga, Laurie Beechman, Richard Belzer, Julius LaRosa, professor Irwin Corey and Lloyd Marx and his orchestra. The awards covered programs broadcast from Sept 1, 1977 through last August Baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn didn't disclose the revenue for major league baseball in its new contracts with ABC and NBC, but it's reported to be Betty Furness 7:30 P.M.
