Rapid growth and its ever-increis- tng importance to the agricultural life of the Dominion has necessitated the creation of leveret new positions for trained technical men on the staff of the Central experimental Farm at Ottawa. Three sppointments have al ready been made, while ono newly-created post remains ta be filled, along with tho position of a cereal chemist which port was vacated some months ago.

Dr. S. Archibald announced to The Journal today that considerable expansion of the Experimental Farm system waa planned for thia year, and Ottawa central station would be the chief beneficiary on account of the large amount of additional equipment that would be required to carry out now research work. Asked concerning ths possibility of new building being erected for housing the headquarters staff, Dr. Archibald said that there waa little hone of anything other than preliminary steps ocing texen true year.

With the rapid growth and expansion of the work don by the Farm officials, the Inadequate accommodation la being found, to hamper their work. The amount of work undertaken by the Farm last year reached tha highlit point since its Inception, and with a further growth hi the amount of work expected tUi year tt has been found mi item te make additional appomtnsenta to the technical staff. -The newly-created posts ere mainly for research work, which embodies weed control cultural work, control of fungus itlsism, plant pathology and forestry disposes.
