"Minpoka is the garden spot of the said Tom SiUDie. wno irasnvcu in that great baseball player producing tnwn the birthplace of Charlie and Ezra Connell, xor in years, and after rambling around the burg for, nearly half of a day I'll be jiggered if I don't pretty near muw mvsRif. If it wasn't for the streets I'd think so But that's nnlv a mere trifle.

I had fifteen minutes spare time yes. terday morning, apd I didn't know what to do" with myself. 1 went through my pockets and found just enough coin to carry me to Minooka and back without suffering any in convenience, so oft I went for Minooka. To save an extra nickel, I got off at I the city line and walked uptown. I The only men I could think of that I knew were Johnny Coyne, the fat one: IMIike 'Ruddy, the reporter: Father Lavelie, Father Murray and Mrs.

A. Gallagher, the milliner. Johnny Coyne was the first one in order, and when I called on him he was out. The only sign of life around the place was Frank Sienkowitz filling the ice box and Martin Coyne playing a single handed game of solitaire. There were two or three boys around the place and they spotted me and asked me to get a line on Stock the Clock Walsh, a rare old character of Minooka.

In going up the street I was preceded by Miss Katie Coyne, bookkeepper for Pat Miggins, the big store man. Gee, it's full of coins 1 mean Coynes in Minooka, and what's more, all them Covnes down there are valuable. However, I was after "Stop the Clock," and when I saw him in front of Connolly's 1 stopped the clock and had chat with 'him. He told me he was after a job, but didn't like anything too laborious. All he had in his "jeans" was a button a knife and a horseshoe nail good as new.

Years ago in Minooka no affair was considered quito a success without the presence of old "Sinn" and his eolden voice. I pal 1 a visit to Mrs. Maine Boland. TtnlanH runs a little tobacco and snda water store, and I asked her if shd give two cigare. "Xothlng doing," she said, "but I'll sell them to you." Mrs.

Boland says that business is fair, but could be better if only some of her customers tvoull drink more eoda water or smoke more cigars. I noticed a heap of glaes in froni of Donnelly's, and nosy Hket, I had to go in and find out all about It. They had had a robbery there the nighi before, but when I got in I forgot all about the glass when I saw Dr Kane and his friend, McCrea. mop THE DELAWARE HUDSON CO.
