KL PASO HKKAJLU MUT ESST FEtTURE GET NEXT SHOW 500 Spanish War Veterans New Association of Exhibit- Parade; Labor Has Spotlight Tuesday. Monday was army day at the expo- sition. Thousands of soldiers packed the exposition grounds during: the af- ternoon and evening. No attendance I records were broken, although the crowd was one of the largest which has passed through the exposition gates. More than 500 Spanish war veterans inarched in the parade to the exposition grounds Monday.

The procession was headed by the Sixth Pennsylvania infantry band. Officers and members I i of Hamilton Fish camp No. 2. Spanish war veterans, led the veterans, most of whom were from national suard and regular regiments now stationed at HI Paso. The veterans marched west on San Francisco street to the union i station, returning to form before the I flag, which was saluted by each mem- ber before the parade broke up.

Maj. G. TV. Cunningham, of the Sixth infantry, was grand marshal, and V. E.

commander of Hamilton Fish camp No. 2, was chief of staff. His aides were Lieut. Charles J. Wragg, Sixth Ohio infantry, and Lieut.

Tom Hartman, machine gun company. Fourth Ohio infantry. Gen. Wm. V.

MrMaken, commanding the First Ohio infantry brigade, was one of the distinguished members of the procession. Tuesday was labor day at the expo- si tion. ors Recommends Alternation of Sections. i The 1917 International Soil Prod- ucts exposition will be held in the east or middle west, if the recommend- ation of the newly formed association made at a meeting of the chamber of commerce Tuesday, is adopted by rhe board of governors, It was the opinion of the exhibitors that more good would accrue to the farming sections of the west by displaying the crops of this section in eastern communities, than if they were exhibited in the west. The recommendation of the association was that the exposition be heid in TTie east and west in alternate years.

A resolution was adopted recommending that a uniform system of construction and decoration of booths be used by the exposition management in the future, not to exceed $3.10 per front foot in cost. The advisability of requiring the city securing the exposition to construct buildings and booths, a minimum space to be furnished exhibitors without cost, was discussed at length. Alfredo Paclieco, conductor of the Mexican band, and members of the Mexican consular service met with the board of controls of the Soil Products exposition Tuesday morning and offered to continue the daily concerts within the exposition grounds till Thursday night, as a mark of their appreciation of the kindnesses shown them by the people of El Paso since the i great musical organization has been in i the city.

As a compliment to the people of El Paso the Mexican band will give a public concert at Cleveland Square at the close of the regular concert in the exposition grounds tonight. The special concert will begin at 8:30 and will continue till 10 oclock. Durinr the concert the band will render a new march under the title, Butte March," composed for the occasion by Maj. Pacheco. One of the pieces that Maj.

Pacheco has been requested to play to- night is a Spanish medley. MESILLA TAKES THREE PRIZES FOR DISPLAYS Mesilla Park, X. Oct. E.
