Heberlig, Victims of firo MIDDLETOWN Mrs. Cathy J. Heberlig, 30, and her son, Michael J. Heberlig, 5, both of 213 Aspen died Saturday as a result of injuries suffered during a fire in their home. Among his survivors are his paternal grandparents, Mr.

and Mrs. C. E. Heberlig of Liverpool. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday in Middletown.

Mrs. Ruth Sampsell WATSONTOWN Mrs. Ruth L. Sampsell, 60, Watsontown RDl, died Saturday afternoon in (he Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She had been taken there after being stricken in her home earlier Jn the day.

She was married for 41 years to Gordon E. Sampsell. Born in Hughesville, June 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Simon G. and Clara L. Trick Eichenlaub.

She was formerly employed by the former Montgomery Mills, Montgomery, and by the former Philco-Ford plant, Watsontown. Mrs. Sampsell was a citizens band, radio enthusiast and wzs known as "Lady Edward." She had been a member of the former Montgomery Area Breakers CB Club. She also was a former Girl Scout leader with Troop 55 at Watsontown. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Watscntown.

In addition' to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leona M. Houseknecht of Hughesville; four brothers, Bruce Eichenlaub of Savannah, Grant Eichenlaub of Montgomery RD2, Carl Eichenlaub of Watsontown RDl and Paul Eichenlaub, address unknown; and two grandchildren. Just a bit more than a week ago, the Capitol was a scene of hustle and bustle as legislators put the finishing touches on the state's new budget and various tax packages. Now, however, the senators and representatives have retired to their home districts for the summer recess, which' will not end until With the legislators gone, the pace of Capitol life changes from hectic to leisurely. "I've played golf three times since last, week," said one obviously please! The basement cafeteria is a good barometer of Capitol activity. What happens to business there during the summer recess? "It dies," said food service director Parke Hoover. Massey is shown in his best-known television role as Dr.

Gillespie in the "Dr. Kildare" television series. Ralph E. Trutt NORTHUMBERLAND Ralph E. Trutt, 70, of 477 Water former owner and operator of gasoline stations, died Sunday morning in Sunbury Community Hospital.

He owned and operated the Trutt Sonoco Service Station on Duke Street for many years, and later owned and operated the Trutt Esso Service Station at Front and Duke streets for 14 years, retiring in 1975. Born in Winfield, Oct. 6, 1912, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice Pardoe Trutt. In 1944, he married the former Catherine Schatz. Mr.

Trutt was a member of Northumberland Moose and Sunbury Eagles and a life member of No. 1 Fire Company, Northumberland. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret A. Campbell of Northumberland; two granddaughters; and one sister, Mrs.

Geraldine Brechtof Northumberland. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, Northumberland, by the Rev. Arnold R.

Mrs, Florence J. Roup WHITE DEER Mrs. Florence Raup. 98. formerly of White Deer, died Sunday morning in the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, where she was a resident for the past three years.

Born Dec. 10, 1884, at White Deer, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Emma Tillman Clarence W. Raup, died in Mrs. Raup was of the Evangelical faith. She was a life member of the White Deer Park Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruth R. Shaffer of White Deer, Mrs. Dorothy R. Bergston of Rochester, Y.

and Mrs. Betty Lou Rearick of Lewisburg RDl; six grandchildren: 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Wertz of New Columbia RDl; and two sisters, Mrs. Malah Royer of New Columbia RDl and Mrs. Helen Leininger of Sunbury. A son, Fred, died in 1919.

and Carrie E. Bargo Moyer. She was married for 54 years to Robert C. Pyers. Mrs.

Pyers was a former employee of the Westinghouse Corp. and was a desk clerk at the Edison Hotel for 35 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Auxiliary of the Moose, both of Sunbury. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Robert S. Brownwell and Mrs.

Lois J. Adams, both of Sunbury; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Zweier Funeral Home, Sunbury, by the Rev. David H.

Mr. Sacco was head of the Northumberland County office of the' Soil Conservation Service from 1950 to 1962, having previously been an employee of the service. He had lived in Kelly Township for 15 months and prior to that had lived in Mifflinburg RDl. Born Oct. 4, 1908, in Penn Township, Snyder County he was the son of the late John Benjamin and Gertie Ann Rowe Herman. He was married in 1933 to the former Aria Mae Hummel. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1.

Mr. Herman retired in 1973 after 22 years employment as a mechanic by and Motors, Lewisburg. Prior to that he was a dairy farmer in Union County. He was a member of 'the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cowan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Eugene Milton.

Mrs. Richard D. Maurer of Carlisle, and Mrs. William A. Klaus-man of Carlisle 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A son. Carson; a daughter, Gloria; and two brothers preceded him in death. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in the New Berlin Chapel of the James L. Schwartz Home for Funerals, by the Rev.

of 502 Lincoln died Sunday morning in the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where he wis admitted Wednesday. He had been in ill health since February and was previously hospitalized. Born March 14, 1923, in Waynesboro, he was a son of Carl and Harriet Reisler Stitely. He had lived in Milton most of his life. Mr.

Stitely was employed for 36 years at the ACF Industries Milton. He was married for 37 years to the former June Phillips. He was a 1941 graduate of the Milton High School. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, American Legion, VFW Post 1665, Moose and Elks Lodge, and the Milton Booster Club, all of Milton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Frank at home; two daughters, Mrs. Carole Zlockie and Mrs. Lynne Miller, both of Milton; two grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd G. of Milton; and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Heimbach of Milton.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Milton, by the Rev. Richard Snyder. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery.

There will be no viewing. Robert A. Berkheiser PAXINOS -r- Robert A. Berkheiser, 73, Paxinos RDl, died Sunday morning in Shamokin State General Hospital. Born in Shamokin, Feb.

2, 1919, he was the son of the late Calvin and Florence Rhoads Berkheiser. He married the former Martha Clark in 1931. Mr. Berkheiser was a retired employee of the News-Item, Shamokin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Elroy W.
