Mus. and one B. Ped. Monday we had a most interesting ball game. The Indian nine from the government school in the Territory played the college nine.

The Indians played a good game, but one of their best men had the misfortune to get hit on the head with the ball early in the game, which not only rendered him of little use as a ball player for the rest of the day, but rattled the rest of the red skins. The score stood 14 to 13 in favor of the college. The enrollment at the college the past year has been about 500. Everybody is pleased with the management and the advancement that is being made. The summer term opens June 7th.

Quite a number are intending to remain and take advantage of it. The intention is to cover two terms work in one. It is intended more especially for teachers and others who wish to review in branches they have already studied. C. N.

Neither party is guiltless of he charge of making voters to order by this method. The more difficult the attainment of American citizenship is made the more highly it will de prised by those who obtain it. The Senate bill, passed this week, directing the Interstate Commerce Commission to ascertain and report upon a uniform system of automatic couplets for freight cares, is one about which there should be no two opinions. It is in the interest of humanity, ami should become a law at the earliest possible moment. Some people might, suppose that National political conventions vere a source of enormous profit to the railroads, but a prominent railroad man frays that just the reverse is true; and lhat they cost the rail roads a large Mini of money, because about nine-lenths of ihose who attend them do so without having to buy their tickets, and in many instances those who go on i'ornplimentary special trains are fed for several days, going and coming, at the expence of the rail roads; such a train left here at an early hour Thursday morning, carrying nearly one hundred Washington parlor and dining cars that have to be donated to the 1g guns.
