I to CJ READY FRI. SAT. 10 A.M. a Inside the record world ess MINI-REVIEWS i 2 Bay City Rollers "It's a Game" (Arista). A terrific eS album produced by Harry Maslin.

Here, the Rollers are at their best, backed up by a beautiful arrangement of strings on songs like "It's a Game" and "Dance Dance Dance." I like their version of David Bowie's "Rebel Rebel." and the single, "You Made Me Believe in Magic." This surely is a group that improves with each recording. especially wnen tney sing love iv tr. Scotland's soulful pride and joy team up with the legendary King, whose recent "Supernatural Thing" gave him a new lease on today's scene.

The material selection (by Arif Mardin, the AWB and King) is stronger than on their last album, "Person to Person." The marriage of talent seems a natural; both are immensely popular in Europe. My picks include "Get It Up for Love." 'Fool for You Anyway," "Someday We'll All Be Free," "Imagine" and 'Keepin' It to Myself." Emotions '-Rejoice" (Columbia). These are three lovely ladies, former Stax recording stars, who made their" debut under the production guidance of Maurice Wind White. Their first and last album with White and EWF included the single, "I Don't Want to Lose Your Love," and gained them a gold certificate. This record displays the growing talent of these rising stars, with selections like the superhit, "The Best of My Love." "Love's What's "A Long Way to Go" and "Key to My Heart." Raul de Souza "Sweet Lncy" (Capitol).

This Brazilian trombonist is new as a featured recording artist, but this album leaves little doubt that in time many people will know his name. His ability to use the trombone as if he were plaving trumpet makes him an unusual talent. This album moves through progressive jazz, Latin and salsa; he has command of the instrument completely through anything from sweet, warm sounds to powerful funk. My picks are "Sweet Lucy," "Wires," "Wild and Shy," "Banana Free" and "A Song of Love." Bodes, James Smith "What's On Your Mind?" (London). This is a debut album by three very talented young ladies, whose voices are complemented by the large production sound of Mickey Stevenson.

Through ballads, they can soothe with some very rich vocal tones, though for the most part they join together in tight harmonies on some pleasant pop-soul tunes. A successful future should be theirs with selections like "Sweet "Situation" and "One More Love Song." Munich Machine (Casahlanca). The popularity of hard sounding thunder drums originated in Munich, which has been the European home of disco music. Donna Summer debuted her sensual moans out of this city with accompaniment by this band, and Summer's producing Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte. have assembled thatr session musicians lo a 15-minute side entitled "Get On The Funk Train." The remaining aibum cut; are of Donna Summer and Roberta Kelly hits, like Love to Love You Baby," "Trouble Maker" and such.

The Bee Cees just released a two-record live aibum, "Here At Last," covering their record hits as well as favorites from the mid-19G0s.

Arthur Prysock's new single, "You Can Do it," is his best to date. Peter Frampton's "I'm In You" has achieved platinum, his second at that peak. His "Frampton Comes Alive" was his third gold album. The Brothers Johnson album has sold over two million in this country alone; "Right on Time" is the duo's second golden platter. Cat Stevens' "Izitso" marks No.
