Six FIVE BERKS AUTO DRIVERS LOSE CARDS RESULT OF EXPOSE Mantz Furnishes Bail for Hearing Today; Sonen Still in Jail TIARRISBURrt, Nov. 13. The department of highways today announced that as a result of Investigations made at Reading; the automobile drivers' licenses of five Berks pounty persons have been suspended because they were procured in an lr rcjrular manner. The department announced that It has the statement of Arthur Sonen, a former motor patrolman, to the effect that within the last six weeks he aided in obtaining: drivers' licenses for twelve or fifteen persons previously had failed to pass the examination. He secured $10 from each person, he said.

This was with the connivance of Arthur Mantz, member of the motor patrol, stationed at Reading. Manta Is under arrest" at Reading: charged with extortion, Information against him having: been made by attaches of the department of highways. He has been dismissed from the motor patrol. The Reading police have charge of the case against Sonen. The names of the persons whose drivers' licenses have been suspended are as follows: Thomas Thomas, 939 N.

Arthur O.
