Open Every Evening CATHEDRAL DANCE DRAWS INTEREST What promises to be one of the biggest social events of the Thanksgiving season is the dance to be held in the new Scottish Rite Cathedral on Friday evening, Nov. 26. The committee in charge of the dance consists of Donald Russell, Dean Staley and James Hinish. The; boys are making every effort to make the dance one of the biggest events in the history of the city. Invitations have been sent to surrounding towns and according to word a large delegation from Shar- on.

Butler, Grove City, Youngs-; town, Beaver Falls and New Brigh-: ton is expected. The committee was very fortunate in securing the a hot dance band direct from a successful southern tour, for the occasion. It will mark the initial appearance of this coterie of musical wizards to New Castle and the dancers are eagerly awaiting the event. Second fall meeting of the Scout Leaders club was held last evening at Camp John M. Phillips and despite the severe rainstorm 3 5 men were present. A fine oyster supper was served by menu committee, W. G. Ayers chairman.

The program commitete provided a splendid quartet which rendered several selections. Tha members of the (quartet were Peter Grittie, Jack Grlttie, Harry Coates and Albert Peck. The scout leaders discussed the efficiency shield that, will be awarded to the troop scoring the most points in a stated period. This contest will begin in January and the different troops are all planning on winning this shield. Scout Executive Calahan discussed with I he leaders (he new training school to begin in January 1111 der the leadership of Charles Me- Gratli, chairman (if the leadership jand training committee and Charles Grafton, chairman of the publicity committee.

This training course will be opened to all men above 18 years of age in Lawrence county. Sunday school leaders, club or lodge leaders, school leaders or anybody else interested in a training school In leadership is invited. Competent instructors will be in charge, there will be no charges, and anybody desiring further information about this course should get in touch with Boy Scout headquarters, Greer building. Scout leaders also decided last evening to enter the western Pennsylvania camporee of section E. which is to be held in Pittsburgh in the early spring.

Lawrence county expects to bring home the bacon in this meet. The round-up was also discussed last night und final plans were made. The roundup is to be held in the Carnegie auditorium Friday evening, December 10. Anybody interested in what the boys of Lawrence county are doing is invited to attend this year. It will be run in a different form than ever before, being more in the form of a scout circus.

Four rings will be used, demonstrating tender- Ifoot, second, first and merit scouts in a competitive way. Peter Grittie, scoutmaster of troop 18, was appointed by man Ralph Davis to make some plans for the Thanksgiving mara- jthan race to be held this year over a new course. A new cup will be started this year as a cup must be won three times before it becomes permanent property to a troop. Croton troop 5, Ralph Davis scout- I master, won the cup permanently last year. Rev.

Bell was present last night, gave a. very interesting talk to the men on what leadership means to a man, himself and to the com- jmunity. All the men joined in a rising vote to thank Mrs. Ayers for a large crock of cold slaw which she donated to the dinner. President Ralph Davis nang his famous southern song at the meeting to the delight of all those present.

However, he over-stressed himself a little and consequently is not doing any talking today. The Court of Honor will be held on Friday evening, December 3, at the Benjamin Franklin junior high school, with Chairman of the Court of Honor Dr. Williamson in charge. Prof. T.

W. Johns, chairman of the music committee, will he in charge of the chorus and instrumental music. The public is invited and urged to attend this meeting, as there will be no charge and everybody will have a better conception of what scouting means to the boys of the community. Several hundred badges will be issued at this time, and it will be dramatized in a three-act play entitled the Heights." Rev. H.

W. Lambert Assists In Revival At Huntington, Pa. Rev. H. W.

Lambert pastor of the Gospel tabernacle of the Christian and Missionary Alliance on Pearson street has relumed from Huntington. where he assisted I in special evangelistic services for two weeks in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church of that city. Rev. Lambert conducted two services daily. A special feature of tha meeting was the conversion ot' a number of young people.

Rev. D. J. Davies who has assisted in special services in New Castle is pastor of the Huntington church. While away Rev.

Lambert spoke to the students of Juniata college of which Martin G. Brumbaugh, former governor of Pennsylvania is president. The cityward trend indicates that what the man with the hoe really wants is a roof garden. Ah, well if the coal man had no innings the ice man would make it hot for you. Miss Bradford Will Address Noon Meeting In Y.W.C.A. Miss Bradford, evangelist at the Maitland Memorial Primitive Methodist church will conduct the prayer service at noon in the Y. W. C. A.

on Thursday. The address will be given by Miss Bradford and the special music will be a vocal solo by Mrs. C. M. Propst.

A short prayer service is being held in the Y. W. C. at noon each day in observance of the Week of Prayer and World Fellowship. Today the meeting was in charge of Mrs.
