Phone 158 Annual Outing of Sunday School at Sassamansville The annual Sunday school picnic of St. Lutheran church will be held at Sassamansville church lawn tonight, with music being furnished by the Keystone Band, of Boyertown.

Director Robert R. Hartman yesterday announced that Robert Hanley, formerly director of the High school band and orchestra, has been named assistant director of the Keystone organization. Hanley will lead the musicians during several numbers at the picnic and will lead while Director Hartman plays a clarinet solo. The picnic is expected to attract close to 2000 persons. Refreshments will be on sale at the grounds and music will be furnished from 7:30 to 11:30 The Keystone program also will include popular selections, marches and semi-classical numbers.

Robert Houck will play a baritone solo; Ralph Bower, trombone solo; John Sullivan, trumpet solo, and the brass choir will play which was specially arranged by Director Hartman. The brass quartet, composed of William Ellis, John Sullivan. Robert Houck and Ralph Bower, will play special selections. Little activity was apparent all week because of the heat and wave of humidity.

An authentic report said the thermometer showed 96 degrees in the shade on the outskirts of the borough. This mark was registered on a porch at the home of Mrs. Carrie Smith, near the borough. was badly cut and bruised when a large ice truck collided with a truck owned by Clarence Zem, Bechtelsville. in New York. Krapkowitch. who recently returned from the United States Army, stationed at the Philippine Islands, was appointed policeman at Bechtelsville and was to begin his duties last night. His injuries, however, will keep him from duty at least two months.

THEATER PATRONS TO PAY FOR AMUSEMENT TAX A statement issued yesterday by Lewen Pizor, one of the owners of Penn theater, Royersford and Colonial theater, Phoenixville, said the Motion Picture Theater Owners of Eastern Pennsylvania, comprising 490 houses, would on to theater goers the amusement tax, effective Plzor Is president of the theater association. He explained the tax was one cent on each 25 cents or fraction thereof, and was passed by the recent Legislature as a part of the new tax program of Governor Earle and the Democratic administration. Two large organizations, composed of 90 percent of the movie theater owners in the eastern part of the State, agreed to pass the tax on to patrons rather than lower the price on tickets.

The main reason given was a contract with film distributing agencies which prevents a cut below a certain price.
