Area Deaths Guy L. Shafer Guy L. Shafer, 73, ot 571 Main Street, died at.Fox Memorial Hospital December 16 after an eight 4 day Funeral services will be at 11 Tuesday at Bookhout Funeral Home. The Rev. Merlin A.

Ditmer pastor of the First Presbyterian Church and the Rev Boyd Me- deary, pastor emeritus, will officiate. The body will be placed in the Funeral Home vault for later in Breakabeen Cemetery, Breakabeen. Mr. Shafer was born on April 5, 1888 in Blenheim, the son of Gideon, and Miranda (Joslyn) Shafer. He married Susan Rosccrans Nov.

11, 1'914 in Middleburgh. He was an oil dealer until his' retirement eight years ago. Shafer lived in Oneonta for the past 37 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife; one son, Leslie Las Cruces, New Mexico; one daughter, Mrs.

Lothar Fieg, Ste. Genevievc, three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bergh, Middleburgh; Mrs. William Cornwell, Middlefcurgh; Mrs. Kathryn Erear, Sohenectady and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home at their convenience after 4 p.m. Monday. Family will be in attendance 7-9 p.m. Monday. Francis A.

Black Francis Black, 49, 12 Birch died, Saturday, December 16, at Fox Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 20 the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, with the Rev. Robert Hodges, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. He was born August 31, 1912 in Ragan, Nebraska, the son of Atwell and Lucy (Blanchard) Black.

He married Dena Utter February 24, 1934 in, Walton. Mr. Black was employed by the Delaware and Hudson Railroad as a yardmaster. He was a resident of Oneonta for 47 years and member of the First Baptist Church and Oneonta Lodge B.P.O.E. and Yardmasters of America.

Surviving beside? his wife and mother'" are: one Daughter, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Nonvell, three brothers, Kenneth, Tucson, Syracuse, and Russell, Oneonta; three sisters, Mrs. Leon, Williams, M'iss Helene Black, both of Oneonta, and, Mrs. Harold Wilkins of Norwell, two grandchildren, Robert and Stephen Wilson, also of Nonvell, Mass. Friends may call at the Bookhout Funeral Home at their convenience.

The family will be in attendance Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m. Andrew Reinertsen BOVINA CENTER Andrew Reinertsen, 78, ol Bovina Center died Saturday, December 6, at Delhi Hospital, where he had been a patient but for two days. Funeral services will -be at p.m., Tuesday, December 19, al the Bovina Center United Presby terian with the Rev. Bruce G. Freeman, pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church of Delhi, of ficiating.

Burial will be in the Bovina Center Cemetery. A native of Mr. Reinert sen was bom February IS, 1883 the son of Lars and Gesene (An derson) Reinertsen. He married Sophia Larsen in Brooklyn. He was a member of the Bovina Center United Presbyterian Church, and -the Delhi Grange.

H( came to the United States in 1900 to Bovina Center in 1918. He wa a retired farmer. Surviving beside his wife, ar four sons, Sigurd and Robert Corinth, Leif, of Bovina Center, Wai ter of Jamaica, L.I.;iour daughters Walter of Corinth; four daughters Mrs. Edwin. La Fever, Unadilla Mrs.

Clark Lay, Bovina Centei Mrs. Frank Swantak, South Kort right, Mrs. Linden Kelly, New Bel lin; one brother in Norway; 1 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are unde the direction of the McCall Funei al jiome, in Delhi, where friend may call until service time. Daniel Tyler ROXBURY Daniel died December 17, at Delhi Sanatorium.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury. The Rev, John J. Fryling, pastor of Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury, will officiate Cremation will take place at Troy crematorium. He was born June 7, 1873, in Stamford, the son ot Irvin and Mary Jane (Kniffen) Tyler.

He operated a dairy farm in Roxbury for most of his life; he was a former director ot Shet- fields Farm Dairy. He is survived by his i Goldie; one-son, William Hancock; one grandson, Garry North Palm Beach, one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Marie Getman, 63, of 229 Main Oneonta, died Saturday, December 16 in the Albany Medical Center of a cerebral Hemmorr- hage. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 19 at the Rothery-Murphy Funeral Home and at, 9:30 a.m. a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church.

Burial will, be held at the Plains Cemetery, Oneonta. She was born January 4, 1898 in New York City, the daughter of ohn and Carrie Wetyel Bassong. Mrs. Gelman was a retired eamstress and a resident of One- nla for 30 years. She was a mem- er of St.

Mary's Church. Surviving are one son, Addison, Jtjca, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. Hogencamp, Port Jervis; wo brothers, John, Newark, N.J. ind Fred B. Bassong, Syracuse; ne grandson, Mark Getman, Utia, and several nieces and icphews.

Friends may call at the funeral lome until service time. The family will be in attendance donday 7 to 9 p.m. John W. Fuller at St. James Episcopal Church, at Lake Delaware, Delhi.

She -was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bloomville, and its Ladies' Auxiliary. Surviving besides hor husbajid, are one brother, Harold I-Jllt! one sister, Mrs. Jcnniemae Stanton, bolh of Bloomville; one nephew, Robert Stanton, of Blooinyillc, presently in the S. Military Service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MeCa.ll Funeral Home in Dqlhi, where friends may call until service time. Mrs. Sylvia B. Harlom CHERRY VALLEY Mrs, Sulvia B. Hartom, 88, formerly of Cherry Valley, died in Binghamton, December 16 after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, The Robert W. Meyer, pastor of the Cherry Valley Presbyterian, Church, will officiate. Burial be in South Valley Cemetery, She.was born Sept. 4, 1873, in South Valley, the daughter of Amenzo and Melvina (Baxter) Ancy.
