Texas old age assistance rolls increased by 1,503 persons in March, John H. Winters, executive director of the State Department of Public Welfare, anhounced Thursday. Applications for aid by the aged continue to pour in with no let-up in sight. Winters said. There are now approximately 7,100 applica- uons for aid filed in March, including 5,100 by the aged.

He added that they are pledged to support Representative Joe Kilgore of McAllen, runnerup to Manford in the 1949 speakership contest.
