Located at Pier 86. W. 46th St and 12th the museum complex completed a $500,000 renovation earlier this year.

New exhibits aboard INTREPID include the "Spanish American War," commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the USS MAINE, an interactive exhibit on the TITANIC and a pictorial display which salutes the nation of Israel's 50 year struggle for survival. For those who are looking to refurbished Vietnam era destroyer EDSON with paid admission to the nonprofit museum. An additional fee is required for the Navy Flight Simulator. The Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum's annual salute to the Armed Forces, Fleet Week '98, officially kicks off a summer season of fun at Pier 86. Here's a sampling: June 21, the Flight Deck Olympics aboard INTREPID gives kids and adults the chance to compete in a variety of aviation and nautical themed activities.

Officially recognized as a National Historic Landmark and the world's largest floating museum, the Intrepid Museum includes the GROWLER, the only guided missile submarine in the world open to the public. Visitors will receive a complimentary tour of the GROWLER and the pristinely Skytypers. As an added bonus, the cast of the Broadway show "The Sound of Music" will provide a free performance at the Flight Deck Olympics. During the July 4th week-" end, don't miss Vesselmania when seven NATO ships from around the world will dock next to the INTREPID and open their gangways for public visitation July 3-4.

July 16-19, six more NATO vessels will sail into Pier 86. Sunday, Aug. 2, the INTREPID will host the Second Annual Great Hudson River Rowboat Race.
