I like your Sanchez at shortstop And the Sawyer boy on your pitching staff only faced Sheetz once but he appears to throw hard and has a good curve Right now I would rank Kildoo right next to Sawyer I think Saw yer throws a little harder but Kildoo can be tough Mejias surprises me Against us at first he looked lousy but now nobody can get him out And don't kid yourself Anybody who can hit in 47 straight games has got something give your manager Paepke lots of credit for the way that team has come along He appears to handle them just right keeps them hustling and on their toes Has a great way with the kids" Capps Wants Strong Six Team Loop Capps voiced a fenent hope that Big State owners will reject the current bid to move Bryan to Del Rio (His plea was futile the shift was approved Saturday aft ernoon And he hopes the league can be organized into a tight well balanced six club affair by nexd season stuff of some club folding or about to fold every other week is no he said could in each With those observations the alert Clipper manager went to the third base coaching box and directed his team into a 1 0 ad vantage over Waco for six and one half innings But then the Paepke Wrecking Co took charge free wheeled men out of the way and went on to capture its 12th victory in a row As Capps had noted those Pirates can be tough BASEBALL NOTES: The Waco Pirates whipped everything in sight on their recent road trip but Ronnie Sheetz still wound up a loser He lost his billfold at Har lingen containing $8 Bill Phillips hit the hardest ball on the trip a clout over the center field fence in Corpus ball just hit an air pocket and kept Phillips explained The Waco infielders were happy to be back home Waco has the only decent infield in the league they say Chili Bigham sold by Corpus to Atlanta is now in the Milwaukee organization and some day may be playing for the Braves has a says Capps has the speed and the power if he will just push Bill Capps thinks the league may have a lively playoff despite the current Waco runaway And he expects Galves ton to edge past Austin and win that fourth spot One of the high spots of the game riday night was the statement by
