Mary Kretow former Point Pleasant Hospital volunteer Mary Kretow, 83, of Point Pleasdied June 23 in the Medical Center of Ocean County Point Pleasant Hospital. She was a file clerk for Metropolitan Life Insurance New York, for 10 years, retiring in 1979. She was an active volunteer at Point Pleasant Hospital for 10 years. Born in New York, she lived in Brooklyn before moving to Point Pleasant 20 years Surviving are her husband, Paul; two sons, Robert P. Kretow, Howell, and John W.

Kretow, Fairport, N.Y.; a daughter, Katherine K. Eyre, Yardley, a brother, Wal- ter Kurosko, Jacksonville, two sisters, Olga Snider and Ann Schmidt, both of Brooklyn; and six grandchildren, Susanne, Tamara, Paul, Howard, Sasha and Liana. Relatives and friends are invited to call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Friday, June 25, at Van Hise and Callagan Leber Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Point Pleasant Beach.

Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be Saturday, June 26, leaving the funeral home after prayers at 9:30 a.m. for St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall.

Helen A. Thompson Crilly Altar Rosary Society member Helen A. Thompson Crilly, 91, of Lavallette, died June 21 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Lavallette.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart Church, and the Catholic Daughters of both of Scotch Plains, and the Third Order of St.Francis. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Lavallette in 1976. Her husband, Roger L. Crilly died in 1982; and her son, Roger Crilly Jr. died in 1997.

Surviving are one son, Thomas Crilly, Silver Spring, four daughters, Shirley Chambers, Aberdeen, MaryLou Lozowski, Scotch Plains, Eileen. West, Toms River, and Kathryn Sinnott, Piscataway; a brother, Walter Thompson, Lavallette; 27 grandchildren; and 36 great -grandchildren. Green Newark Fire Department Employee Wilbur N. Green, 83, of Manchester, whose son lives in Mantoloking. died June 17 in Green Acres Manor. Toms River. He was employed by the Newark Fire Department for 33 years, retiring in 1976.

Sheridan Former Semi-Pro Baseball Player John F. Sheridan, 88, of Brick, died June 21 at home. He was employed by the state of New Jersey in the Department of Institutions and Agencies, Division of State Use, retiring in 1973 as supervisory industrial manager after 43 years of service to the state. In the 1930s, he was a semi-pro baseball player and played shortstop with various top-flight Trenton area teams. He also played with the Princeton and Dolington Teams in the Delaware Valley League, and the Prison Officers team in the Trenton Industrial League, and under the leadership of manager Fred Scully, he traveled to Wichita, for semi-pro congress.

Born in Lambertville, he lived most of his life in Trenton before moving to Brick six months ago. He was predeceased by his par- ents, James J. and Mary Sheridan; two brothers, the Rev. James J. Sheridan and Joseph Sheridan; and two sisters, Mary E.

Sheridan and Helen T. Sheridan. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn McQuade Sheridan; a son, John J. Sheridan, Brick; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and edward Gunnell, Spring Lake Heights; an grandson, Edward Gunnell, Spring Lake Heights; three granddaughters, Kelly Howey, Point Pleasant, Colleen Davenport, wall, and Erin Gunnell, spring Lake Heights; and a greatgrandson, Tyler Warren Howey, Point Pleasant. Nancy Murray Former Mantoloking Resident Nancy Murray, of Germantown, died June 18 in Rockville, Md. Born in New York, she was a former resident of Mantoloking. She was predeceased by her husband. Rev. Thomas J.

Elmer L. Kievit Navy Veteran of WWII Elmer L. "Putsy" Kievit, 82, died June 21 in Brick Hospital. Born in Passaic, he lived in Clifton before moving to the Monterey Beach section of Dover Township 14 years ago. He had summered in Monterey Beach since 1964.

Mr. Kievit was a building inspector for the City of Clifton for 12 years. Before that, he was a land surveyor for Canger Engineering in Fair Lawn for 20 years. He retired 16 years ago. Mr.Kievit was a U.S.

Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. Hew was a member of the American Legion post in Clifton and the Caledoian Club of Paterson. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clifton. Surviving are his wife, Jen Robertson Kievit; a son, Bob of Monterey Beach; a daughter, Marlene Romanowski of Stafford; two sisters, Catherine Nardidni and Betty Bichler, both of Clifton; and five grandchildren.
