14 Texas Thursday, April 22, 1954 ON SECOND THOUGHT Bj DAVE CAMPBELL Xens-Tribiine Sports Editor Tuesday night was a hard night for the umpires of the Big State League, with Temple officially protesting a decision and Jack Paepke had. The decision which drew Paepke's wrath (and one for which he was ousted from the game) occurred in the last of ninth in the contest between Waco and Austin. Several of the Waco hurlers probably will be sent out in order that they may get regular work. Pittsburgh wants none of its voungsters wasting time on the bench. TIGER SPRINT STAR Clark, who set a new District 7-AA record in the 440-yard dash, won the 220-yard dash, and anchored Waco High's record-breaking mile relay quartet, is the key performer on the Tiger track team this year. Here Clark crouches in his starting blocks for a practice sprint. He'll run at Dallas Saturday.
