FOUR THE COAST STAR, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1966 A In Mrs. Ludlow, Relative Of Pioneers, Dies at 99 OBITUARIES Mrs. Elizabeth Kempton Foster, 78, of 400 Washington Avenue, Spring Lake, died Friday in her home." Mrs. Foster, who moved to Spring Lake in 1938, was the wife of the late 'Robert G. Foster.

'He died last month. A graduate of the Taconic School, Lakeville, Mrs: Foster served as a dietician at the University of Nevada and was associated with the Young Women's Christian Association during World War I. She was a charter member of the Fitkin Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop, Spring Lake, and was a member of the Altar Guild of St. Uriel's Episcopal Church, Sea Girt. Survivors are one son, Robert Foster, Baltimore, one sister, Mrs.

Florence' K. Malthiasen, Spring Lake, and four grandchildren. Services were conducted Monday in St. Uriel's Episcopal Church and interment was in Atlantic View Cemetery. Mrs.

Robert G. Foster Mrs. Gerard Heeseman Mrs. Ruth Morris Heeseman, wife of Gerard 'Heeseman, Allaire Road, Wall Township, died yesterday in Point Pleasant Hospital after a short illness. She was 57.

years old. Born in Wall Township, Mrs. Heeseman lived there all her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Philip, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Davis, Andersen, S.C.; a brother, Kenneth Morris, Wall Township; a sister, Mrs.

Marion Pope, Wall Township, and two grandchildren. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Robert C. Neary Funeral Home. Rev.

Lawrence E. Moore, pastor of St. Andrew's Methodist Church, Spring Lake, will officiate. Interment will be in Atlantic View Cemetery. Girl Scouts Spend Night At Camp Sacajawea Brielle Junior Girl Scout Troop 429 went to Camp Sacajawea, near Farmingdale, for an overnight on Friday.

Girl Scouts on the trip were Denise Harvey, Linette Venerable, Valerie, Summer, Lorrie Leclercq, Amy Potter, Pat Roster, Judy Cosse, Debbie Evans, Lynn Kopriva, Joni Miller, Jean Kirk, Rosemarie Baker, Janice Underhill, Patricia Vertucci, Eileen Arnold, Kathy Aylward, Elizabeth Carroll, Sharon Dickson, Mary Wood, Ellen Litzebauer, Karen Mahady, Hollis Horner; and Teresa Butterfield. Three Cadette Scouts accompanied the troop on the trip: Nancy Sauer, Marie Spagnoli, and Cris Kopriva. The girls entertained leaders Mrs. Thomas Mahady, Mrs. William Arnold, assistant; Mrs.

449-4000 HUGH B. MEEHAN, Director Mrs. Ella Heulitt Ludlow, 99, a descendant of pioneers and once a resident of what is now the Deserted Village at Allaire, died Dec. 6 in her 2004 Fourth Avenue, Spring Lake, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick Mrs.

Ludlow was born on Oct. 21, 1867, in New Bedford. She attended school at Allaire, where her grandmother lived. The iron-producing center later was abandoned and has been undergoing reconstruction as part of Allaire State Park. A resident of Spring Lake 67 years, Mrs.

Ludlow was a descendant of Johannes De'Peyster, one of the men who drew the New' Amsterdam Charter. He came to America in 1651. Another relative was John Banker, a captain in the Revolutionary War, who outfitted troops by selling his property. Mrs. Ludlow was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Huguenot Society of New Jersey and was a former member of Wall Methodist Church, Spring Lake Heights.

She had donated many historic items to Allaire State Park. Survivors are one son, Lott H. Ludlow, Felton, two daughters, Mrs. Edith Pawling and Mrs. Geraldine Whitaker, both of Spring Lake; six grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren.

Services were held last Thursday in the Meehan Funeral Home, Spring Lake Heights, and interment was in Atlantic View Cemetery. -Mrs. Nelson L. Taylor Mrs. Laura E.

Taylor, 87, of 621 Rankin Road, Brielle, died Saturday at Sunnyside Farms Nursing Home, Wall Township. She was the wife of the late Nelson L. Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Rahway before moving to Brielle in 1959.

Survivors are one son, Nelson L. Taylor, Rahway; one daughter, Mrs. Harold G. Meier, with whom she resided; one brother, Stewart Baker, Plainfield; one grandson, and one great-grandson. The Pettit Funeral Home, Rahway, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Warren Hoffner Mrs. Pelagie Hoffner, 60, of 1513 Gully Road, Wall Township, died Friday in her home. Mr. Hoffner, a free lance artist 40 years, was the wife of the late Warren Hoffner.

She was born in Philadelphia, and lived in New. York City before moving to Wall Township 17 years ago. Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Pelagie Doan, Broomall, one sister, Mrs. Gabrielle Reichard, Wilmington, and two nephews and a niece.

Charles N. Dezer, Specialist, Dies at 70, Dr. Charles N. Dezer, 70, of 316 Beacon Boulevard, Sea Girt, died Sunday in Jersey Shore Medical Center. Neptune, following a short illness.

His wife, Mrs. Ruby B. Dezer, died Dec. 2. A resident Girt for the past two years, Dr.

Dezer moved to the Shore from Englewood after retiring as a physician. He wa's chief emeritus of eye, ear, "nose, and throat at Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, He was staff president there from 1942 to 1944. He was also on the staff of the Englewood Hospital and Bergen Pines County Hospital, Paramus. Dr. Dezer also served two terms as a' councilman for the City of Englewood.

Dr. Dezer graduated from New York University and Fordham Medical School. He did postgraduate work in New Haven' (Conn.) Hospital, Temple, University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, and Manhattan Hospital, New York. He was a member emeritus and former secretary of the Bergen County Medical Assoefation and was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He formerly was a member of the Ridgewood Country Club and the Hackensack Golf Club.

He was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Sea Girt. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jerry E. Brown, Spring Lake, and Mrs.

Roscoe Walker, Denver, a son, Major Charles Dezer, III, Marine Corps; an aunt, Miss Carrie Hughes, Englewood, and 12 grandchildren. Services were yesterday from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, with a Requiem Mass in St. Mark's Church. Interment was in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall Township.

St. Denis Sodality Presents. Pantomine At Christmas Party The Christmas party of the St. Denis Altar -Rosary Sodality followed the Dec. 5 meeting.

Mrs. John White, vice president, conducted the meeting in the absence of Mrs. Harry A. Paulin, president. Amid a festive Christmas decor, a pantomime was presented by Mrs.

Emily Holle, program chairman. The presentation was narrated by Mrs. William Donovan. Members participating were Mrs. White, Mrs.

William Rowan, Mrs. Anna Miller, and Mrs. David Roden. Mrs. Roden portrayed Santa Claus.

Members' children included Karen and Julia Mahady, Mary-Jo Corbo, and Kathy Rowan. Christmas songs by the children and Mrs. Frank Morra were accompanied by Mrs. Anthony M. Dillon at the piano.

Mrs. Thomas Mahady, hospitality chairman, and her committee served a Christmas supper. Santa presented gifts to all members and honored guests, the Rt. Rev. Msgr.

James A. Harding, the Rev. Paul Kane, and the Rev. Walter J. Kozik.

Wortley, tell the story of Chanukah and explain the lighting of the Chanukah candles in the Menorah. The purpose of the program was' to create a better understanding between boys of the Christian and Jewish faiths. The Menorah was borrowed for the occasion from Mrs. Samuel Bressler, Belmar. After the meeting, each boy took home one of the candles from the Menorah.

The candles came directly from Israel and were donated by Abraham R. K.litzman, Belmar. The boys also enjoyed a traditional 'Chanukah game. Chip Thompson, den chief, and Ray Wortley also were present at the meeting. The same boys will have a Christmas party on Saturday, Harvard College was founded in Massachusetts on Oct.

Mr. Nulty's parents are from Sea Girt. It was a triple birthday celebration at the William Longworthy home in Brielle this past week; wife, mother, and Bill. Denis Plans Classes To Explain Catholicism Inquiry and instruction classes will soon begin for anyone interested in learning about the Catholic faith and teachings. They will be conducted by the Rev. Walter J. Kosik, assistant pastor of St. Denis Church.

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 8 to 9 o'clock and periodically on Sunday evenings at the same hour. The first class will be Jan. 4 in St. Denis School, Avenue. These classes are open and free for anyone who wishes to attend.

There is no obligation to become Catholic. Father Kosiz said the church is interested in explaining about the Catholic faith, practice, and devotions. Question and answer sessions will be held.
