AP Six persons were injured when a truck and an automobile collided one mile west of Malakoff on State Highway 31 last night. Walter L. Cherry, Lafavette, and Jack Gandy of Talco, were the only ones to receive more than minor hurts. Cherry was driving the truck and Gandy the car. Representative Sanborn, Republican of Idaho, was informed by the Agriculture Department today that Idaho potato and beet producers must depend heavily this year on local labor. The two crops, which harvested at about the same time, require about 7,000 laborers. An aide to Sanborn told a reporter that a department spokesmen had advised that an effort would be made to recruit about 2,500 Mexican laborers from California and the Southwest.

Blind Girl Enters College With Aid Of Sweetwater Lions SWEETWATER, Sept. Because she already has lustified their faith in her, Connie Ruth Chance is going to college this year with the backing of the Sweetwater Lions Club. Connie, 1947 graduate of Sweetwater High School, enrolled recently at Texas State College for Women in Denton. She has been blind since she was 3 years old, when she fell on a pair of open scissors. Three operations, financed by the Lions, have failed to restore her vision.

But the Lions have aided her In getting an education Just the same. They sent her to the Texas School for the Blind for 12 years. Whbn she wanted to do her senior work at Sweetwater High School, they persuaded the school to accept her on a trial basis. Justifying the faith In her, Connie graduated as one of the 10 high honor students of her class. The Lions Club will continue to back her as she pursues her college education.
