Walker, who resides Cedar Nashcase.of ville, and is employed at Silberman's Jewelry Co. In speaking of his trouble, he says: For months past I could only work part time, and had a severe hacking cough, my stomach would bloat after eating, and I had shortness of breath, dizziness and a coated tongue. I obtained the Quaker Herb Extract and after taking it, expelled a monster tapeworm, some 31 feet in length.

What happiness and joy this medicine has brought to me, words cannot express. Anyone doubting can write to Mr. Walker and he will be only too glad to testify to the truth of the results secured in his case. The Quaker Health Teacher says: There are political, social, vegetable, animal and human vultures, that are a great impediment to all progress and are the real problems that scientists in all branches are trying to solve. TRYING TO DECIDE WHO SHOULD MAKE RATES The Matter is Being Talked at Meeting Being Held in Detroit. Detroit, Nov. of the transportation act to clarify the question of jurisdiction of federal and state commissions was one of the major matters for discussion facing the 34th annual convention of the National Association of Railway and Utilities Commissioners which opened here today. A report urging abolition of the railway labor board and the transfer of its functions to the interstate commerce commission and enactment of legislation which would enable the commission to enforce its orders, was submitted to the convention by the association's committee on public ownership. The report said such steps would Pale and Thin Many feel unequal to the daily task.

Why Is It That Men, Think More of Cars Than Themselves? Insurance men say it is rare for people to voluntarily call for life insurance. "I only recall two instances in several years where people have come to me voluntarily to, ask for life insurance policies," said Ed Benham, a life insurance agent. Ed M. Moore, another agent, says he does not recall a single instance of anyone calling for life, accident or sick insurance, unsolicited. "Men come in and ask for insurance on their jitney, or on their house, or other property," said Mr.

Moore. "But they have to be solicited to take out insurance on themselves. Do they think more of their automobiles than of themselves?" Marriage Licenses. Clarence R. Gantz, Plevna.

WEATHER HALTS PAVEMENT WORK Stamey-Mackey Company Probably Will Resume Brick Laying Tomorrow, However. Shut down for several days because of the heavy rains, the StameyMackey Construction company plans to resume work tomorrow on laying brick on section of federal aid hard road project No. 27. The concrete mixer probably will be started again Thursday, providing the weather is sufficiently mild.

The contractors have approximately one section of base and two sections of brick to complete this 15-mile stretch of pavement which will give a paved highway from Hutchinson to the county line west of Sylvia. Almost ten and one-half miles of base is laid and the brick laying gang has five and three miles laid. Five miles of completed pavement is ed. Delayed Start Too Long. This pavement job would have been finished, County Engineer W.

A. Stacy said today, had the contractors began work immed.ately after the letting, or at least within a few weeks. It was more than two months after the letting on April 21 before the first base was laid. The intervening time was spent prospecting for gravel more close the project. Since starting the contractors have lost 19 days because of rain and 9 days because of lack of cement.

Plenty of cement is on hand now and nothing but weather will shut off work. Might Finish It. Prospects of finishing the remaining four and one-half miles of base are remote, Mr. Stacy says. There have been winters when it would be possible to work up into December but November generally sees the last of concrete work.

The brick laying gang can be assembled more easily and probably will work intermittently until it has caught up with the completed base. "My guess would be that we would finish perhaps a mile a half or two miles more of base," said Mr. Stacy. "We probably will have three miles untouched. This can be put in such shape however that it can be used during the winter." IF SKIN BREAKS OUT, IS FIERY, ITCHY OR ROUGH, USE SULPHUR Just the moment you apply Mentho-Sulphur to an itching, burning or broken out skin, the itching stops and healing begins, says a noted skin specialist.

This sulphur preparation, made into a pleasant cold cream, gives such a quick relief, even to fiery eczema, that nothing has ever been found to take its place. Because of its germ destroying properties, it quickly subdues the itching, cools the irritation and heals the eczema right up, leaving a clear, smooth skin in place of ugly eruptions, rash, pimples or roughness. You do not have to wait for improvement. It quickly shows. You can get a little jar of Rowles MenthoSulphur at any drug store.

It was claimed by the report that with the labor board and interstate commerce commission functioning a dual control was established that had proved a failure and the system was wrong in principle. "It appeared at the time of this strike that the walkout was welcomed by the railroads," the report "This highly expensive experiment has shown conclusively that it is impractical to have two separate constituted governmental agencies endeavoring to regulate and control the nation's transportation systems.

The policy is inconsistent, unsound and unjust. It is as foolish as it would be to have two boards of directors for a single bank." PHOTO PRINT AGENCY HERE. -It Is Either That or Acquittal for a Los Angeles Woman. Los Angeles, Nov. or, at the worst, manslaughter. Those are the only possible verdicts in the case of Mrs. Clara Phillips, on trial for the murder of Mrs.

Alberta Tremaine Meadows, according to Bertram Herrington, chief defense counsel, who, after taking up all of yester-1 day's sessions with his arguments to the jury, was expected to continue through much of today. Mr. Herrington 'pleaded acquittal, declaring it was Mrs. Peggy Caffee, star witness for the state, and not Mrs. Phillips, who struck the hammer blows which brought death to Mrs.

Meadows. He attacked Mre. Caffee's.
