William K. Windisch of 749 W. Park-st, this city, are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Melba, on May 1941, to E. A. Bystrom, son of Mr.

and Mrs. G. Bystrom, of Omaha, Nebraska. The ceremony took place at Kansas City, Missouri, with the Rev. William Spong, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Anderson of Kansas City, close friends of the couple, were the attendants.

Mr. and Mrs. Bystrom will leave Sandusky July 7 for an extended motor trip through the Ozark Mountain region. From this trip they will return to Omaha where they will reside. 4 -H CLUB HOLDS MEETING MONDAY Miss Dolores Osgood Is Guest Of Honor At Party On Tuesday Mrs.

F. L. O'Brien, of Pontiac, the former Bernice Oswald, entertained at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.

J. Oswald, on Shelby-st Tuesday evening with a personal shower given in honor of Miss Dolores Osgood, fiancee of James Fletcher. Mrs. O'Brien is the guest of her parents for the week. Miss Marilyn Uhl and Mrs.

Irvin Ehrhardt were fortunate in the evening's pinochje play while Mrs. E. E. Geiseman was consoled. Luncheon service followed close of play and many lovely gifts were presented to Miss Osgood.

J. Oswald, Miss Winifred Rattunde. Miss Jane Gerold Is Honored At Shower Given Here Tuesday Miss Jane Gerold, whose marriage to Dean Romick of Mt. Blanchard, will be held in St. Mary's Church rectory on June 21, was guest of honor Tuesday evening at a miscellaneous given by her sister, Mrs.

Charles Jones, Boalt-st. Games of pinochle were played during the affair with high score trophies going to Mrs. Anna Peterson, Mrs. Walter Peterson and Mrs. Elmer Petetson.

Miss Charlotte Baier was high score winner in the hearts play. Luncheon service closed the pariy and many lovely gifts presented to Miss Gerold. Those attending included: Mrs Anna Peterson and Mrs. Waller Buck of Fremont; Miss Charlotte Baier, Miss Grace Guendelsberger, Mrs. Alton Peterson, Mrs.

Ben Erney, Mrs. William Meyers, Mrs Walter Peterson, Mrs. Roy Loth, Mrs. William Voltz, Mrs. William Voltz, Mrs.

Elmer Peterson, Mrs. Arthur Gerold, Mrs. Robort Shortliff and Mrs. Peter Gerold. The Miracle Maids 4-H club met Monday evening at the home of the Misses Catherine and Dorothy Frey.

The short business meeting was conducted by the new officers and later sewing was done for the Red Cross. Members attending were: jorie Moyer, Florence Hoffman. Doris Lorenz, Catherine Frey. Nadine Hoyt, Edith Heidel and Emily Carnegie. Miss Elsie Kautz is advisor for the group and Dorothy Frey is assistant advisor.

The next meeting will be held iwith Edith Heidel on June 16. Group Plans Party Friday A benefit card party will be given this Friday afternoon at the International School of Art, Wayne-st, by Bundles for Britain, Inc. A 1:30 o'clock dessert service will precede the afternoon's games. Bridge and other games will be played. Table awards and other special trophies will be presented to those fortunate.

Committee members in charge are Mrs. Robert Clarke, Mrs. Albert Strack, Mrs. William Hamacher, Mrs. R.

Groom, Mrs. Frank Klohn and Mrs. Frank Menchau. Reservations for the affair should be made by Thursday evening with Mrs. George Breining, Main 1548-M; or with Mrs.

George Bromm, 2123-W. Miss Ellen Mitchell Honored At Two Informal Pre-Nuptial Parties Given Here Recently Miss Ellen Mitchell, fiancee of Charles Tolleson, was guest of honor here recently at two informal pre-nuptial parties. On Monday evening of this week Miss Mitchell was honored with a dinner-party given by Mrs Helen Graham and Mrs. Theresa Fox. The affair was held at Marshall's Inn and dinner service was followed by informal diversions.

Guests attending were: Mrs. Rose- mette Mitchell, Mrs. Hugh Van Slyke, Ashtabula; Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Fox.

Miss Mitchell was also honored recently with a surprise kitchen shower given by members of the Junior Study club of Calvary Episcopal Church at the home of Mrs. George Bromm. Games and contests were enjoyed during this party and later in the evening a delicious luncheon was served. Place favors on the luncheon table were individual corsages and a large bouquet of garden flowers formed the centerpiece. Miss Mitchell was presented with many gifts at both affairs.

V.F. W. Auxiliary Holds Meet Tuesday Nigh In Club Rooms EAGLES CARD CLUB HAS FINAL MEET HAPPY BIRTHDAY The Eagles Monday Night club held its final meeting of the season Monday evening in the form of a dinner-party at the home of Mrs. Charles Geason. Mrs.

Fred Bolyard and Mrs. Fred Brushaber were high score trophy winners in the evening's pinochle games. The regular Auxiliary meeting, scheduled for this Thursday, has been postponed and no more meetings will be held by the group until further notice. 5 1 3fC MODERN PRisCILLAS POSTPONE MEETING The Modern Priscilla club has postponed the meeting scheduled for this Friday afternoon. The date of the next meeting will be announced in the near future.

Members will leave for the resort on the 12 o'clock boat.

Plans for the affair were made during the monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon at the church. A discussion was also held of the joint meeting of all circles at the Chaska Beach home of Mrs. J. W. Harris next Tuesday afternoon.

A report was given on the recent laymen's meeting at Milan. Later refreshments were served. Circle No. Two was hostess group. LADIES' AID WILL MEET The Ladies' Aid Society of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church will hold a regular devotional and business meeting Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the church.

A supper will be served early in the evening. Mrs. J. M. Petersen will be hostess for the meeting.

MISSIONARY GROUP TO HOLD PICNIC A monthly meeting was held Tuesday afternoon at the church by the Missionary Society of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church. Mrs. Emma Schumacher was in charge of the devotionals and Mrs. Henry Brown presided at the business session. Plans were made to hold a picnic July 1 and to entertain the Fort Wayne Orphans Band when it plays here.

R. Von Gruenigen read missionary papers for the lesson study. Mrs. Witzel was hostess for a luncheon following the session. GOLF GROUP HOLDS MEET The Women's Golf Association of Plum Brook Country club held a luncheon-meeting Tuesday at the club and planned to begin this summer's weekly tournament play next Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock.

The first district Golf Association meeting will be held here June 12. Elyria, Tiffin and Sandusky clubs will be presented in the play, which will begin at 9 a. m. Teams will be made up of the four lowest handicap players of each club. All other members are also invited to participate in the matches.

The refreshment committee for the meeting includes Mrs. J. T. Rogers, Mrs. Carl Schott, Mrs.

Glenn Shoop, Mrs. R. W. Carlson and Mrs. Harry Mewborn.

Mrs. Mewborn and Mrs. Carlson were hostesses for yesterday's luncheon. The group sewed for the Red Cross in the morning. Mr.

and Mrs. Paul Glick and daughter, Linda, of Cincinnati. The regular meeting of the erans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary was held Tuesday evening in the club rooms with Mrs. Edna Oswald, president, conducting the session. Plans were completed during the meeting for the district meeting to be held in Upper Sandusky, June 8, with members of the local auxiliary exemplifying the Memorial Service.

Those attending from Sandusky are asked to meet Sunday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the club rooms. The auxiliary is also participating, as a marching unit, in the Flag Day parade. Mrs. Lucille Schweinfurth was winner of a special award in the contest played following the meeting. The, next regular meeting will be held July 1.

The V. F. W. Daughters are planning a social meeting for this Saturday afternoon. All members who sold poppies will be taken to a moving picture show follow ing the session.

Sunshine Society Has Final Meeting On Tuesday Evening As its closing event of the 194041 calendar, the Sunshine Society held a covered-dish dinner meeting at the summer home of the Misses Wilma and Irene Link on the Cedar Point Chaussee. Annual election of officers featured the business session. Those chosen were: president, Mrs. B. V.

Everds; vice president, Mrs. Oscar Soderberg; secretary, Mrs. John Weichel; corresponding secretary. Mrs. Eben Young; treasurer, Miss Florence Koegle.

Reports for the year were also given and included: three parties given for the women of the Erie- co Home; 76 baskets and 217 and sympathy cards sent; 84 plants sent to ill and shut-in; funds donated to a needy person for medicine; a needy family, the Federation card party, and for furnishings and equip ment for the room maintained by the group at Good Samaritan Hospital. The Society also makes surgical dressings at Good Samaritan Hospital during the year. A social hour followed last night's meeting. Mrs. M.

S. Von Lossow of Seattle, who is visiting here was a guest of the group. TRINITY CLUB TO GIVE DINNER-PARTY A dinner-party will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 o'clock at Mulheran's restaurant by members of Trinity Study club. Miss Mayme Miller is general chairman in charge of arrangements. Games of pinochle and oLher diversions will be enjoyed following the dinner.

Awards will be presented to high scorers. Zion League Plans Meet The Senior Luther League of Zion Lutheran Church will meet this evening at 7:30 o'clock in the church parlors. Devotionals will be led by the Rev. Theodore Stellhorn, Jr. The study topic of the evening will be "Treasure Hunt." The committee in charge of recreation following the meeting includes Virginia Mainzer, chairman, Mary Gordon, Jean Galloway, Jean Fischer and Lloyd Grubbe.

AUXILIARY HAS MEET TUESDAY The Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital met Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Alfred Hinde, W. Washington-st. Sewing was done for the hospital following a business session. The next meeting will be held June 17 with Mrs.

Women's Civic Club Members Enjoy Supper-Party Tuesday At Waldock Home On Chaussee The Women's Civic club enjoyed a buffet supper and indoor party Tuesday evening at (he Cedar Point Chaussee summer home of Mrs. William Waldock, instead of the picnic supper in the gardqn, as originally planned, because of the rain and stormy weather. Supper was served at 6:30 o'clock. A feature of the evening's program of entertainment was a Radio Quiz conducted by Mrs.

Oscar Burger, assisted by Mrs. Arthur Cocherell. Winner of the quiz program was Miss Mary McCann. Regular meeting will be sumed by the club in the fall. There will be no more activities this 'jummer, Sixty-three members attended the party.

CHURCH GROUP PLANS MEETING Mrs. Raymond Fritz will be hostess for the regular meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton-tp, this Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. The lesson topic is "The Abundant Life for the Home." Plans will also be discussed fbr the 75th anniversary of the church's founding. Later refreshments will be served.

William Mowry and Mrs. Martin Tice. Mrs. Tice will be hostess to the club on June 17. MARY SMITH IS GRADUATE Graduation exercises were held at the St.

Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland Monday evening and Miss Mary Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newman Smith, Bloomingville, was a member of the graduating class. Miss Smith is also a graduate of Sandusky High school. Miss Marian G.

Ray Fry. COUPLE OBSERVES GOLDEN WEDDING The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kugel, 824 Decatur-st, was observed by the couple on Tuesday. No formal celebration was held but many friends called during the day and refreshments were served.

Mr. and Mrs. Kugel were marred here June 3, 1891 in the Presbyterian parsonage with the Rev. Bierce officiating. They have three children, Carl Kugel of Sandusky and Franklin Kugel and Mrs.
