Raleigh Register, Beckley, W. Thursday April 5, 1973--7 basketball coach, junior center Mark Rorrer will improve fas 2l-point scoring average and 14 rebounds a game next year. That could be bad for area coaches, Rorrer is one of ten' players named to the All Raleigh County team. County champion Sophia placed three players on the listy while Marsh; Fork and Stoco put two each on the team. Jr. Sr. Jr. Lopez topped all the Catholic school players in the state wide voting, giving him the honorary captaincy of the 1973 Catholic All State. Roger Haley, Charleston's fine all around star, not very far behind Lopez in the voting and considerably ahead of the other six members selected in total votes received.

He averaged 17.4 points and was a strong rebounder with an average of more than 15 retrieves from the boards per game. John Brinegar of Morgantown St. Francis finished third in the voting and the senior star had a scoring average of 16.3 and was also a' strong rebounder under both boards. Charlestons Steve Turkovich, Mike Deemer of Weirton Madonna arid Jeff Morgantown, finished in a virtual tie in the number of votes received, Assif averaged almost 16 points per game and shared rebounding honors i Brinegar for the Morgantown team. Deemer was the highest scorer the Catholic school players and he finished the season with a high 28.9 points per game average.

He was also a strong rebounder and averaged 16 per game. Turkovich was second to Roger Haley in scoring for a good Charleston team and he averaged 16.8 points. Like most of the other honorees he was also a splendid rebounder with more than a 13 per game average taking the ball from the boards. Greg George of Huntington and Jerome Kroll of Clarksburg, both juniors, were not much behind in total votes polled. Kroll had 15.4 scoring average and bettered 12 rebounds per game.

He was a good hustler and a good jumper: Greg George had the highest scoring average per game on Durocher Fined For Interfering HOUSTON (UPI) Houston Astros Manager Durocher, despite a threat to resign before bowing under, said he paid a $250 fine for interfering with a players' meeting in Pompano Beach, March 12. Durocher was fined by the National League office after he broke up the meeting of his players with Marvin Miller, Executive Director of the Assi'f of Ma League Players' Association. Charles S. Durocher said no players signed up to attend the meeting and he was within his rights to order his reserves from the meeting for batting practice. Feeney immediately imposed the fine and upset Durocher further by failing to call him personally to explain the action.
