24. Complete and radical will be the changes instituted in the public and high schools of tha province by the revised regulations which have been prepared by the Minister of Education and his assistants, and which were endorsed by the provincial cabinet at the meeting on Tuesday afternuon. Only the proof sheets of the regulations are yet ready, tmt these vere placed at the disposal of the press by the deputy minister, 7ohn Millar, and enough information was gleaned from them to show that the regulation-iare of the greatest importance, and that the influence of them on the provincial school system will be far reaching. Speaking generally, the i emulations have been based on the draft submitted by the minister to the educational association two years ago. and the subsequent report of the committee of nineteen, but neither of these documents has been slavishly follow- ed, indeed, there is much material tUat i not 68ested in these reports.

A writer in the Country Gentleman touches a great problem when he writes on the exodus from the farm to the city. Why Is it that the citiea are filling up with fanners from the farms? he Why are so many young men. middle aged men, old men, so ready to ssli the farm and move from the pure, sweet, healthful influences of toe grand oil country to take tip restricted' or contracted quarters In the noisy, dirty wicked city?
