Birthdays of Mr. Whites sister, Mrs. Lila Ferrell, and brother, L. D. White, rural Coffeyville, were celebrated.

Westphalia Class reunion Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Brubaker entertained class members of the Westphalia Rural High School class of 1928 Saturday in their home. They all attended a luncheon at an lola restaurant. Morgan Winn served as master of ceremonies, Mrs.

Guy Rodgers gave a memorial for deceased classmates. Mrs. Leslie Brubaker introduced the honored guest, J. C. Finnerty of Hartford who was their senior sponsor and principal.

Finnerty is 81 years old. After lunch they returned to the Brubaker home where they enjoyed visiting, looking at memos and pictures, and taking pictures. Morgan Winn prepared a booklet of class history, and letters from each member telling of their history through the past 50 years. Gaar exudes confidence as he files for primary Molola Sigg, a Gates Rubber Co. employee, goes through the preliminaries of having her blood pressure and temperature checked giving life before she donates a pint of blood.

It was the first time the bloodmobile had visited Gates. Thirty-five employees volunteered to donate blood. Three employees, Stephen Haen, Ed Murphy and Dale Riebel, received pins after their latest donation of blood brought their totals to one gallon.

Judge George Levans speaks at 9:30 a.m. Deer killed by pickup A deer was killed last night when it was struck by a pickup truck on U.S. 59 a mile and a half west of Stark. The truck which hit the deer was being driven by Eugene C. Koester, Chanute.

(AP) Sam Hardage, candidate for Republican nomination to the U. S. Senate, said today Senate Bill 2467 has been mislabeled as the Labor Reform Act of 1978 and should be defeated. He described it as one of the most dangerous bills now before Congress. This bill is nothing more than an effort to put the power of the federal government behind big labors organizing efforts, Hardage said in remarks prepared for a group of Wichita business men.

It does nothing to protect the rights of working men and women who dont want to belong to a union. He declared the bill would benefit neither working men nor the general public. The overwhelming majority of Kansans Ive talked to dont want big labor unions to have more power to force unions on those who dont want them, Hardage said. This is exactly what this bill would do. Joanne McIntyre, president, conducted the business meeting. Mrs. Clarence Switzer and Mrs. Orville Hawk thanked the group for their parties that was given them on their 50th wedding anniversaries. A bridal shower was planned for Debbie Shafer to be held at the next meeting June 15, which will be in the home of Mrs.

Harry Shafer. Mystery pal gifts were received by Beverly Hawk and May Shafer. Mrs. Mildred Chambers visited Thursday through Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Cody of Kansas City. Mrs. Velma Van Wie accompanied her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart, lola, on a camping trip to Bagnell Dam over the weekend.

Wednesday Mrs. Van Wie visited her mother, Mrs. Mary Fuller and brother, Clifford of Garnett. Mr. and Mrs.

Con Higginbotham returned Thursday morning from Bartlesville. Saturday evening they attended the dance recital of their granddaughters, Chris and Cathy Guenther. Wednesday evening they attended the graduation of their grandson, Mike Grimes. Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Kettle and Jon attended the pinning ceremonies Sunday night at the Tee Pee Restaurant at Lawrence for their daughter and sister, Donna, who received her occupational therapist pin from the University of Kansas. The also attended KU commencement exercises Monday. Recent visitors of Mrs. Grace Frame were Mr. and Mrs.

Vernon Howard attemded commencement exercises at Pittsburg State University Saturday morning when his niece, Linda Frazell, received her BS degree in education, with a major in elementary education. Sunday afternoon Vernon Howard visited Ralph Lewis and Farris Wells, who are patients in the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett. Guests for several days of Mr. and Mrs.

Orville Hawk have been friends Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyman, en route to their home in Maine after spending the winter months at Mission, Texas. Also visiting them have been Orvilles sister, Mr. and Mrs.

David Thomas of Herington, who came for the 25th wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hawk, lola, Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs.

Lowell Brecheisen spent the weekend camping and fishing at Burlington and caught a lot of nice channels. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Brecheisen went to Topeka Tuesday evening to visit their family, Mr. and Mrs.
