Top brass at the network, which has already spawned ESPN2, said yesterday that come Nov. 1 they'll launch ESPNEWS, a 24-hour sports news service.

Word of the channel comes less than four months after CNN and Sports Illustrated unveiled plans for a similar service called CNNSI.
