SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2004 ANNOUNCEMENTS HARROLD, Donald (Jigs) Alexander Donald (Jigs) Alexander Harrold, son of Donald and Ceenie, passed away in Kelowna on September 3, 2004 at the age of 86. He is survived by; his loving wife Joyce, son Bob and daughter-in-law Gloria Harrold, daughters Judy and Lois Harrold, sister Janet Akerman, grandsons Myles and Michael Harrold and Jordan and Justin Hawrelak and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Don born on the family farm in Namao, Alberta on March 25, 1918. He was a wireless operator for the RCAF during WWII, serving in England, Europe and Africa from 1941 1946. After leaving the service Don worked with Imperial Oil at Strathcona Refinery for 30 years.

He retired in 1979 to Surrey, BC and moved on to the Okanagan in 1991. there was always an avid gardener and golfer and loved to recite classical poetry. Don's sense of humor and sharp wit will be missed by family, friends and neighbours. Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 10th at First Memorial at 1211 Sutherland Ave. at a.m.

Louise was born in Drumlithe, Scotland the eldest daughter of John and Louise Main, she immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in 1918. Louise met Allan Duncan, and in 1939 they married at the Knox United Church in Calgary.

Louise worked for many years in Calgary for the Grain Exchange and Mannix Construction. Louise and her family moved to Edmonton in 1952 where she worked for Cooperators Insurance until retirement and then settling in Calgary. Louise will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and caring friend to all that knew her. Louise is survived by two sons and Calgary, daughters-in-law, and Peter Don and and Bonnie Judy of Athabasca; seven grandchildren, Mike (Carrie) Duncan of Athabasca, Damian Duncan, Jodi Duncan all of Calgary, Nathan (Lyndsey) Duncan of Peace River, Donny Duncan of Swift Current, Lyndsey Kreiser and Mandy Kreiser both of Athabasca; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Jake Duncan of Athabasca; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Louise is also survived by her sister Irene Verbeck of Chicago.

Louise was predeceased her husband Allan Duncan; brothers, Dick Main, John Main, and Frank Main; and her sister Anne Main. A Private Family Memorial was held in Calgary. -131061 GAUVREAU, Fr. the seminarians and priests of St. Joseph Seminary announce the death of their beloved Rector, Fr. Louis-Paul Gauvreau, p.s.s. Fr.

Louis-Paul was called to pass from this life to eternal life on Thursday, September 2, 2004. At the time his death, he was 64 years old and in the 40th year of his priestly life in the service of the Church. Other than his brother priests of the Society of the Priests of St. Sulpice, Fr. Louis-Paul leaves his sister, Louise, and a number of nieces and nephews.

His entire priestly life was given for the formation seminarians. In addition to serving as a member of various formation teams, Fr. Louis-Paul served as rector in seminaries in Manizales (Colombia), Montreal (Quebec) most recently, Edmonton. Prayers will be held in the Seminary Chapel 15611 St. Albert Trail on Monday, September 6, at 7 p.m.

On August 27, 2004, David Walter Gibbons died in Edmonton, Alberta of pulmonary fibrosis after waiting thirteen months for a lung transplant.

David's family is deeply saddened by his loss including his beloved wife, Janice Dillon, and children David and Lise Gibbons; his brother Richard Gibbons, sister-in-law Colleen and children Joseph, Erika, Matthew and Britt; his father-in-law Fred Dillon; his sister-in-law Jo-Anne Dillon, brother-in-law Elwyn Hopkin and children Alexandra and Claire; brother-in-law Carl Dillon, sister-in-law Terri Haines and children Monique, Mirelle, Kyle and Nicolle; and many relatives and friends. His parents, David Walter Gibbons and Mary Eileen (Long), predeceased him. David was born in Nelson, B.C. on April 20, 1940. His youth was spent in Burnaby, B.C.

where he excelled at sports. He was a Canadian Pony League baseball champ. While at UBC, he was an All-Conference All Star linebacker for the Thunderbirds and also played for the Meraloma. He graduated law at UBC in 1969. His criminal practice took him to most Canadian provinces, U.S.A., Mexico, India, Europe, South America and Africa.

David loved to be in the courtroom and was a passionate protector of the rights of the accused. He was a Life Bencher of the Law Society of B.C., Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a founder of Lawyers Rights Watch Canada. He was Greenpeace's first lawyer. David was a keen patron of contemporary art and honoured to be on the board of the Western Front Society. He coached minor hockey and baseball.

David's generosity and kind spirit touched many. He was happiest salmon fishing with his family near his summer home in Tofino. We love you Big Dave. You are forever with us. David's family thanks those who cared for him at the University of Alberta Hospital, especially Dr.

Dale Lien and Jennifer L'Abbe. We appreciate the home care given by all his family, Dierdre Levers and Lyle Thurston. She has battled Alzheimer's disease since then and now is finally at peace and reunited with her beloved.
