Attention of all trappers and prospective trappers was called to this today ye, Conservation Commissioner Lithgow Osborne, who pointed out that since the publication of the department's fish and game laws additional protection has been given these fur bearers.

The open seasons on all other fur bearing Animals remains unchanged. In. Cayuga, Tompkins, Tioga, Wayne, Seneca, Schuyler, Chemung, Ontario, Yates, Steuben, Monroe, Livingston, Allegany, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Niagara, Erie, Oattaraugus -and Chautauqua Counties the season on muskrats will be from inclusive. In Clinton, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Warren Counties, and that portion of Herkimer County Lying north of the towns of Ohio and Russia the open season will be from February 20 to April 20, both dates inclusive.

These quadrupeds may be taken in the counties of Washington and Essex from March 1 to April 20 inclusive. In all other sections of the state the season will be from February 1 to March 31, both dates inclusive. The season on raccoons will open November 1 and will continue until February 10, with the exception of several counties in the central and western part of the state, where the season closes on January 20. It is unlawful to take raccoons out of their dens or by cutting down den trees. On November 10 the season will open on skunks, to continue until February 10 and on mink to continue until March 15.

It is unlawful to take skunk by digging them out of their holes or dens or driving them out by the use of chemicals or gas. There is, no open season in this state on sable or marten, fisher and otter. These animals must at no time be disturbed, The use of chemicals, gas or poison is prohibited taking fur-bearing animals in Traps set or used in their taking must be stamped with the name of the owner and must be legible at all times. No trap of the leg-gripping type shall be used that has teeth or the jaws of which have a greater spread than six inches and no trap shall be set in such a manner that the animal when caught shall be suspended alive. Regulations ering the taking of furbearing animals provide that no traps shall be set until the first day of any open season.

Farmers occupying and cultivating their own farms and members of their families, may trap fur-bearing animals on their own lands without license during the open seasons. All other persons are required by law to possess a combination hunting, trapping and fishing license. muskrats was decided upon by servation Department officials after a public hearing at Albany early this fall. consensus of opinion of those attending this meeting was that because of the mild weather which prevailed all through the last trapping season, the take of muskrats was unusually heavy. Rather than allow possible extermination of these animals it was decided to, postpone the opening date approximately two months.

Fruit Growers' Association to Have Banquet Tomorrow Directors of the Champlain Val-ley Fruit Growers Association have announced plans for the eleventh annual banquet to be held in the Grange Hall at Peru at 6:30 P. tomorrow. An interesting program has been developed to provide food and fun for the whole family. The Grange is building its menu around the ever popular roast turkey. Following the banquet there will be greetings from out-of-town visitors with brief addresses of general interest, games for all and a period of dancing.

Although primarily a funfest for fruit growers and their families, an invitation has been extended friends in Clinton and Essex Countties. Miss Carey Attends New York Conference Miss Elizabeth M. Carey, state orthopedic nurse for Warren, Washington and Saratoga- Counties, attended a conference Monday on 50- cial work for the Eastern District of New York, conducted in the state office building at Albany. The part played by the orthopedic public health nurse in social work and in disposition of family problems was the principal topic discussed at the conference, according to Miss Carey, states that most of the orthopedic nurses in the Eastern District were in attendance. Miss Carey resides at Hudson Falls.

Prosecution of Bogus Collectors in Social Security Criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice of bogus collectors of funds in connection with the Social Security Act's old-age misurance program has been requested by the Social Security Board, it has been announced, The board advised the Department of Justice that it has received information of several instances where money has been collected through such misrepresentations, and requested the Department to investigate them and institute criminal proceedings.

In anouncing its action, the board stated: "The Social Security Board has no 'old -age benefits 'oldage insurance or any other kind of collectors or financial agents. It has authorized no one Tito collect any fees from participants In. the old-age Insurance program. We wish to caution everyone against making any- payments whatever to. persons representing themselves as of the board and who guarantee the payment of old-age insurance." T. A. Tonight A talk on "Oxford Echoes" will -be given by Alexander W. Miller, superintendent of schools, at a meeting of the Junior High Parent Teacher Association tonight in the school auditorium. Mr.

Miller spent this past summer at Oxford and will speak of some of his experiences. Musical selections by students will be presented from 7:35 until 8:05, after which the business session will be conducted under the direction of Calvin Southwick, president. Mr. Miller will speak from 8:20 until 9, when a social hour will follow. Miss Helen Fox Named to College Committee Miss Helen Fox, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. A. C. Fox, 38 Grant Avenue, Glens Falls, and Junior at Elmira College, Elmira, has been appointed chairman of the poster committee for the annual Junior Prom to: be held November 5. In addition, Miss Fox will serve on the decorating committee for the Junior dinner dance which has been announced for November 6 at the Mark Twain Hotel in Elmira.

Pox is on the art staff of the Iris, the yearbook of Elmira College, sponsored by the Junior Class. Margaret Marquis, Film Actress, Weds Miss Margaret Marquis, formerly of Glens Falls, now a film actress, will have two careers in the future. Monday she became the bride of David C. McColg, Universal Studios publicist. They met two years ago when cast in a play at the University of California, Los Angeles.

The ceremony was held at the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn. The Rev. Wesley Havermale performed the ceremony. Pauline Easterday, actress, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Marjorie Owens, Jane McKenzie, Anne White, and Kathleen Lorrie of Toronto, Can. Donald McCoig acted best man and Robert Leo, Philip Benjamin and Danny Stevenson were ushers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Marquis, 1114 North Clark Street. After a wedding trip to Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs.

McCoig will be at home in Hollywood.
