She completed a book in 1998 entitled "Great is Thy chronicling her life of faith and providing inspiration to all who read it. Born April 21, 1927 in Edmonton, London, England. Ron came to Edmonton, Alberta in 1956 to visit friends, and never left. He was' hired at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium before its official opening, and retired as its manager in 1989. Theatre was Ron's great passion, and his lasting contribution to Edmonton's Theatre Community is well known and often acknowledged.

He was proud to serve as President of the International Association of Auditorium Managers (IAAM) in 1986. His other great joys included watching films, reading and traveling. Ron is survived by his best friend a and wife, Jo; daughter, Jennifer (David); sons, John (Lesley), Nicholas (Debs), Geoffrey (Sandra); his cherished sister, Winnie (Arthur); many nieces and nephews; four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Predeceased by his 400 parents, Thomas and Catherine; wife, Verna; brothers, Ronald and Lloyd; sister-in-law, Betty; and dog guide, Rudi. Earl is lovingly survived by his companion and dog guide, Murray; brother, Wilbert (Evelyn) Penrice; sister, Laura (Vern) Johnson; sister-in-law, Lorraine Penrice; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends including special friend, Cathy McAloon.

Earl was born, educated and worked for a number of years in Holland, Manitoba before moving to Edmonton in 1950. He was born with severe vision problems: and was registered as legally 1964. Earl worked for a number of years in the lumber and dairy industries and for many years with the CNIB at the of A Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital and at City Hall. Earl loved sports of all kinds and played hockey and curling for many years. He was a staunch Calgary Flames fan and cheered for anyone playing against the Edmonton Eskimos.

Earl was a lifetime member of the Lions International Service Club with many awards for service and especially for his work in relation to dog a guides. Earl had two devoted dog guides since 1993. His first dog guide, Rudi, died in 1997 and he then received Murray who was very well known and was with Earl until Earl's passing. Earl's greatest love was interacting with people and his love, caring and compassion was evident in all his relationships. He had a special bond with children and they were always drawn to him.

He en spent many hours making presentations to school groups in relation blindness, making the best of living with a handicap. Earl's life was a testament to the most of one's life despite difficult circumstances. Earl was a Christian and enjoyed sharing his faith in Jesus Christ. Earl made a difference in many lives and was a motivation and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Memorial Service Saturday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m.
