Nora later graduated from the Camrose Normal School and then taught at various country schools including the local Shaw school. In 1943, Nora left the teaching profession to travel east. Joining her brother Vernon, she worked at the Fleet Aircraft Factory in Fort Erie, Ontario. After World War II, she moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario and worked with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until her retirement. She was a member and participant with the Eastern Star.

She married Verdon McArthur and resided at their home on Armoury Street in Niagara Falls. Nora is survived by her husband, Verdon, of Niagara Fails and brothers, Roy (wife Muriel) Findlay of Calgary, Alberta, Vernon (wife Telma) Findlay of Sun City West Arizona, USA; and sister, Elizabeth Davison of Tofield Alberta; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
