Born and raised in Manitoba, Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at SaintBoniface College. He later completed his studies towards a Master's Degree in Telecommunications at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Paul started his 35-year broadcasting career in Winnipeg with the CBC. Prior to his appointment as Regional Director of French Services for Alberta in 1979, he was involved with the production of numerous local and network television programs. After retiring from the CBC in 1990, he joined Right Management Consultants as a Professional Services Consultant.

Active in the community, he sat on the finance committee of his local parish for many years and as President of the Richelieu Service Club participated in many fundraising projects. As consultant for la Societe educative de l'Alberta, he established a program to assist young adults in their search for employment. For the past two years he was the Alberta and N.W.T. representative on the Board of rectors, CBC Pensioners National Association. Throughout his life, Paul was devoted to his family and his many friends.

He will be sorely missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at St -Thomas d'Aquin Catholic Church, 8410-89 Street. Cremation to follow. Jennie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her thoughtfulness.

Taken from missed us too but young, leaves sadly her family and friends with warm and beautiful memories of her spirit, generosity, capacity for friendship and general verve for life. Wife, partner and best friend to Ken. Their marriage brought her joy and tender love for over 39 years. Beloved of Keith, Michael and Janet (predeceased by Michael in 1997). Her children and her friendship with them were a major focus of her life.

Jennie's relationship with Keith's wife, Shelley quickly became as close as mother and daughter. Jennie was thrilled to become a grandma with Charlotte's arrival last year and has delighted in sunshine that her granddaughter radiates. She was greatly loved respected by her siblings, John, Jeffrey and Linda, and a wife family circle in Northern Ireland, England, Switzerland and Ontario. Jennie was born on September 13, 1939 in Portadown, Northern Ireland. Married to Ken in 1962, the family emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta in 1969.

Jennie made close and lasting friendships there and was actively involved in local school, church and community activities. After raising her family, Jennie returned to unida versity and earned her B.A. from the University of Alberta in 1986. Jennie enjoyed her career and colleagues in her tenure as the Executive Secretary to the Animal Ethics Committee. Faculty of Medicine, University of Alberta.

After they retired, Jennie and Ken moved to Arbutus Ridge on Vancouver Island. Jennie made many dear friends in her new home and enjoyed four years of glorious views, hiking, birdwatching, sailing and bridge. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Nadine Robertson, Dr. Heidi Martens, Dr.

Willie Pewarchuk, the chemo nurses at the Cowichan District Hospital and Vancouver Island Cancer Centre and to the many neighbours in Arbutus Ridge who extended endless kindness and support during Jennie's illness. She is survived by her children, Simon Huot of Edmonton, Roger (Joan) Huot of Calgary, Jeanne (George) Shaver of St. Albert, Gerard (Carol) Huot Sherwood Park and Roland (Dianne) Huot of Sherwood Park; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Simonne was predeceased first husband, Albert Huot 1956; by her second husband, William Lewis in 1973; daughter-in-law, Jenny Huot; and great-grandson, Lucas Huot. (Bert) Russell, a native Edmontonian, born June 5, 1918 and a long time resident of the Grovenor community, passed away on October 13, 2001.

-077500 He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Betty) nee McCarthy in 1980. He is survived by his loving children, Rob (Velma) of Edmonton, Marjorie (Keith) Olsen of Calgary, Reg (Liz) of Brooks; and grandchildren, Karen, Cam, Spencer, Warren, Lorne, Kent and Megan. After graduating from Victoria High School, Bert attended the University Alberta studying Engineering. 'He answered the call to serve his country in the Second World War as an R.C.A.F. pilot, flying Short Sunderland Flying Boats for which he received a Distinguished Flying Cross.

After returning from overseas, he was a flying instructor at Patricia Bay, Victoria, B.C. He returned to his studies in Edmonton in 1946 and received a B.Sc. in Agriculture in 1950. Bert worked as a municipal assessor for the Provincial Government until his retirement in 1980. He was a long time member of St.

Paul's Anglican Church. Celebration of Bert's life will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Howard McBride Westlawn, 16310 Stony Plain Road.
