Regulator! COT iT iTNTS Ml CURE We Shall Know. rThe following poem he had the lingu lar fortune of being a favorite alike with the heterodox and the orthodox. It it a favorite iu the oiroles of Spiritualism, while Ma Penn and similar men use it In their re vival meetings. Ed. Fmm When the mists have rolled In splendor, From the beauty of the hills, And the sunshine, warm and tender, Falls in splendor on the rills, We may read love's shiuing letter In the rainbow of the spray; We shall know eaoh other better When the mists have cleared away, We shall know as we are known, Never more to walk alone, In the dawning of the moruing.

Whon the mists have cleared away. If we err in banian blindness, Aud forcot that we are dust, If we miss the law of kindness, When we stmeale to be just, Snowy wings of poaoo shall cover All the pains Uiat ciouas our war, When the weary watch is over, And the mists have cleared away, We shall know as we are known, Never more to walk alone, In the dawning of the morning, When the mists have cleared away. When the silvery mists have veiled us. From the faces of our own, Oft we deem their love has failed us, And we tread our path alone; We should see them near and truly We should trust them day by day, Neither love or blame unduly, If the mists are cleared away, We shall know as we are known, Never more to walk alone, In the dawning of the morning, When the mists have cleared away. When the mists have risen above us, As our Father knows his own, Fate to fnoe with those who love us, We shall kuow as we are known.

Love boyond the Orient meadows, Floats the golden mage oi aay; Heart to heart we hide the Bhadows. Till the mists have cleared away. We shall know as we are kuown, Never more to walk nloue, When the day of light is downing, And the mists have cleared away. A Grand Record. We call vour attention to the advertise ment of a remedy which has stood the test of more than a half century with increasing popularity and is universally admitted to have no equal as a remedy for the cure of diseases originating in a disordered Liver, such as Dyspepsia, Biliousness, Constipation, Headache, Colio.

eto. Simmons Liver Regulator is simple and harmless, purely vegetable, and can be safely and advantageously used under any circumstances. It acts mildly and effectually and is enpeoially valuable as a Family which position it holds in so many homes. We do not know another preparation which can bring forward such indorsements from heads of families and those holding the highest official and social positions. Keep Simmons Liver Regulator in yonr house, it will reduce your doctor's bill and insure for your families health and happiness.

It seems strange, but it is neverthless true that the world contains people who will try to imitate, counterfeit or substitute some thing else for a Gonuine.mcritorious article, even to the extent of making a spurious medicine, risking life and health and it behooves everyone to look that they buy only the Genuine. Zeilin have used the precaution to put on the front of eaoh wrapper their trade-mark of a ourved entwined around the mortar, and on the side the signature of J. H. Zeilin Co. Frauds should always be denounced and the true remedies only upheld.

South and North. An anecdote illustrating tbe con trast between the light-hearted pluck of tbe Southern soldier and the patriotic fervor almost religious of the Northern private, was given out recently to a party of friends at the dinner table by a aoutuern omcer. It was affer the battle of Cedar Mountain tho smoke had just rolled away, and two soldiers, one of the North, the other of the South, lay side by side, wounded on the battlefield. Before the ambulance came up to take them to more comfortable quarters, the lad in gray turned to tbe boy in blue and said in a quizzical tone "What are you figbtin' fur!" "The old flag! tbnr's no. nse o' doin' thati tec don't want it." Ingleside.

Fbu Pace. When I wrote last our crops were looking very promising and our people hopeful and cheerful. Now that onr young oorn, gar dens have been out down by the frost a night or to sinoe, and onr wheat and oats dying for want of rain and from the seenv infilv blliihtiug wind, that from some qnar. ter has been blowina constantly for the last onr citisens are becoming discourag ed, gloomy and to a certain degree demoral' Ued. All who can are leaviug.

Ten or twelve famillos from this phoe, and near vicinity, are trying to sell what they have for anything they can get to leave here for California aud Oregon, and will get off within ten days. Your readers can form an lde or our rrosueots for another crop when I tell them kuow of a farmer, six miles from Duffuu, who owns a nice little farm of 60 or 80 acres of as good land as Is to be found In Hava oountv. under eooa fence, nis a gooa house etc, eto and he sold the whole thing, crop aud all for a wagon and two ponies. Aud last week auother party offered a Bood wason. two good horses, a new $40 sewing maoblne, two bedsteads aud 13 bushels of oorn for $10 and last I beard from him be was still trying to nud a man with the hundred dollars.

I only mention these two instances out of the many saoriilces that aro being made rather than risk another drouth that now seems inevit able. Your county and Caldwell, through the Alliance brethren, have made the only per sonal contributions Erath has received, aud those iu tho up portion of the oounty. whose ooudition is still worse thau this and among whom the donation was distributed, I assure vou are truly eratoful to tne nooie- hearted brethren who did not turn a deaf ear to the cry of distress. They have answered the call, Bro. Julian, as true men of our noble organization.

The State appropriation has been timely in aidins the most destitute among us, iu Diving thorn bread for prosenc wants, but the sum is so small it will be of no aid at all in raising a crop, as from two to three dollars worth of flour and meal to each ap plicant will consume the $100,000. The conditions of the oath to be taken by parties in need are such that hundreds of good and worthv peonle among us are debarred receiving any aid. Two of my nearest neiizhborH. both having large and helpless families, are shut out from drawing and and both truly needy. One has a yearling colt more than tbe specifications require, and the other one more cow.

The latter a renter and bos a family and owns horses when be pays for them next fall. Whilst there mnv be some who will get a snck of flour and a few bUBhels of meal irnnaiuenr. iv. there'are many deserving families all over thn oountv who can got nothing nt all such instances as the two I call attention to. Up to this time I have been hopeful and not suffered myself to become disoouraged, but from the present prospects I must confess my groatext fears are belntr aroused, for neither the prayers of our people, thoir fastings, nor even the clouds when the wind is iu the right direction, bring us a drop of rain, and the continuance of this state of affairs ten days longer will make us a doomed people.

Housekeeping rests. 7 Complaints are made from various sections of a band of baking powder tramps whose tricks upon unsuspecting housekeepers seem to partake very much of the nature of confidence operations. Tbe band is composed of women, although employed and directed by an agent of the other sex, nnrl their methods ot Drooedure. as explain ed by several ladies who bave been victimized, is as follows Obtaining acoesg to the kitchen, they introduce the subject of baking powders, inquiring the kind used iu tbe family, ileiug snown tne oan, pernaps a fresh, full one, they volunteer to "test" it to ascertain its qualities. Their "test" constats in placing tbe can on a hot stove or over a lamp or gas jet, or iu mixing the baking powder with water both hot and cold.

If the baking powder is good for anything tbe heat will, of course, expel the gas, which, being aminoniacal or carbonic, is apparent to the sense of smelL The claim is thon made that this odor indioates potne-thing detrimental, although, as a matter of fact, a baking powder that would give off no gas when subjected to heat would be without leavening power and valueless. The Commissioners (ire flooded with applications for office.

Every State in the Union eomos to them for favors of this kind, and each inooming mail bring them more and more trouble of this kind, while all day long the corridors leading their offioes are filled with a stream of place-banters with anxious faces. The Commission is not authorized to employ a clerk or a messenger without tbe approval of Mr. Lamac, the Secretary of the Iuterior, and their bills of expenses will not be paid unloss endorsed by him. The Commissioners seem to be economically inclined, and instead of riding about the oity in carriages, they may be seen walking or using the street oars. Thn rtpmmnfnrv nlnainc a1 Ilia ft ft Washington bar-rooms on Sunday under the new ruling of the Commissioners of the district promises to be Buooes8ful.

Last Sunday nearly -every establishment dedicated to tbe liquor traffio was hermetically sealed, and the few who took chances were so harassed that they will in future acquiesce in tbe established ordl nance. The Sunday drinking ia Washington has been fearfully great, and of course its results have been proportionately disastrous. Tho temperance people are jubilant over the success of the Commissioners in virtually suppressing the sale of liquor in the saloons on Sun; day, and a certain district judge bus gone a stop further. In the case of a hotel-keeper brought before him, he decided that a landlord could neither furnish liquor to his guests their rootna, nor wine at tbe on Sunday. The Revolution Begun.

President Cleveland lias signed the Interstate Commerce bill. Now mark ye, oh patriotic reader, the Register avers that no President since George Washington first monnted tbe presidential throne ever put his name to a more far-reaching state paper. This bill bus more "centralization of power in it than any piounuciamon- to issued Dy Ltincoin or dreamt of by Grant It wipes out nt one swoop even the pretense of State sovereignty whioh furnishes an excuse for onr' American House of Lords, and fairly establishes national sovereignty on tbe firm foundation of logo! eoaet- ment. It also inaugurates a revolution in railway management that must either be abandoned or advanced to the point of national ownership of railroad. It is the boldest Step ia the direction of State socialism that has ever been taken in this country.
