LINCOLN COUNTY LEADER, TOLEDO, OREGON, FRIDAY MARCH 12th, 1920 PACE 3 Sale of Siletz Indian Lands The following list ofi Indian lands located on the Siletz Indian Ites-rratlon. Iir.coln County, Oregon, is offered for sale under existing laws. SEALED BIDS for the same will be received until 2 o'clock P. on May 5, 1920, when the bids will be opened for consideration. All bids Bhall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, which must be conspicuously marked "BID TOR INDIAN LANDS." The DATE of the proposed sale must also be placed thereon, but nothing else.

No bidder wiH be permitted to include more than ono allotment in any one bid. Should a prospective purchaser desire 'o purchase more thnn one allotment he should submit a separate bid for each, and if lie desires tr purchase less than an entire allotment, he may submit a bid for one or more legal sub-divisions thereof and Buch hid will be considered in connection with the appraised value of each such legal subdivision. No bid for less than the appraised value will be considered. The light to reject any or all bids is reserved by the Commissioner Of Indian Afiatrs. Each bid must be accompanied by a duly certified check, certificate of deposit or cashier's check on soma solvent bank, payable to the order of Edwin L.

Chalcraft, Superintendent, for 6b guarantee for the faithful performance by the bidder of his proposals. Cash in lieu of check will not be accepted and will cause bid to be rejected. If the bid nbal! be accepted, and the bidder shall within thirty days after due notice of the acceptance of his bid fail to comply with the terms of his bid by making final payment, the money represented by such check ehall be forfeited to the use of owner of the land. The checks of all unsuccessful bidders will be returned to them within ten days alter tne opening ot bids. The cost for advertissins will be Kept to the minimum consistent to giving this advertisement due publicity. Thi patent issued to purchasers will contain a provision to the effect that there is reserved from the lands granted a right of way for ditches and canal? constructed under authority of the United States. Deterred payments at six cent interest can generally be arranged, provided a payment of not less than twenty-five per cent of the purchase price is made when the bid is accepted. Ed Wright returned to Kails City Monday after spending several weeks visiting with old friends hero'. Mr. and Mrs. 11. Wolfe of Pioneer were visiting here the first of the week with James McDonald.

Mrs. Ludwlg Andersen arrived Mon day evening from Junction City for a visit with her brother, L. Hanson, and family. County Agent footer went up to Eddyvllle Wednesday to take in the big sale held yesterday by S. T.

Loudon Son. Arnold's Store will have a Spring Millinery Opening about the 20th of this month. See the exact date in the next isci'e. Grant King was over from Sileu Monday, enroute to Portland where Mrs. King has been rcceiveing treatment for some time.

W. A. Cooper of Newport came up from Newport Wednesday to work in the Peterson Garage. Mr. Cooper will work here as mechanic all summer.

W. F. Grunow, of the Oregonian force, was a Toledo visitor Tuesday and paid this office a call. Mr. Grunow had been In the Siletz country looking for a location.
