Clausen, late of Minneapolis. We had the pleasure of making his acquaintance week before last, and liked his appearance very A numberof the Adrian 'chain gang" went over to Worthington last ing to assist Worthington lodge in confering some degrees.

It goes without saying that they had a jolly good time. Paul Daily Dispatch: Hon Daniel Shell, of Worthington, is in the city today, and says that in spite of fusion between the democrats and opulistson the senator from their istrict that Bert Miller, of Luverne. the republican candidate, will come out with flying colors. They have some democrats and quite a few populists down that way, but their combined strength will not t)e cient to beat the republicans this G. Lindgren returned day from Dulutn, where he had been to investigate the kind of stone used in the construction of the new court house at Worthington.

It seems that the board of commissioners are at loggerheads with contractor Carroll wi oggerneaas witn contractor isiurou jvitn regard to this stone, the board claiming it is not the kind the tract calls for. In1 the meantime work on the county buildings is pended, and no one seems to know when it will be Democrat. The differences have been amicably adjusted and work on the new building is being pushed as fast as possible. Democrat: It is a wellknown fact that at the present time Adrian is infested with a gang of horn gamblers. It is equally ious that Adrian is cursed with al gambling hells, run day and night, seemingly without fear that the law will be invoked and the damnable trade stopped.

The city authorities should stamp out these evils at once. If something isn't done before long to remove this stench from the fair name of our city it wouldn't be a bad idea to hunt up several good, strong triangular rails and inyite the tiphorn gentry to take a free ride out of towni.
