SILETZ DAY SCHOOL NEWS The boys and girls in the Pre-vocatlonal Classes are busy these days with their Industrial drawings. The Industrial Classes in Farm and Home Mechanics are promised a new work bench in the near future. We shall then hear the busy hum of Industrial work. The Siletz Day School Basket Ball team played a game against the Siletz Giants and were defeated by a small 3core on our home court. This being the first time that basket ball has been played by our boys, we are not discouraged.

If any Grammar Grade Teams in the County would like a game, we should be glad to arrange games in the near future. For further particulars The Siletz Day School, Siletz, Oregon. On Friday, January 26th, we had the pleasure of listening to a very instructive and education al lecture by Pinkley. The subject of the lecture was "Pre-ventitive Measures." This work is a part of the national work carried on by the Health Bureau of Washington. More lectures will follow in the near future.

Attorney Arthur Clarke ar rived over from Corvallis Wed nesday evening. Mr. Clark hab several cases in court and will be here a. week or so. The O.

Fred Wagner of Nortona was in the city yesterday on business. He sold two cars of hay to our local liverymen while in the city. Fred had a splendid crop last Summer. L. Patterson of Harrisburg was killed Wednesday, while driving his auto, by being struck by an electric train.

Mr. Patterson is a nephew of conductor Hoeflein, and Geo. Hoeflein, and a cousin of Mrs. W. E.

Peterson of this city. Conductor Wm. Hoeflein and family of Yaquina attended the funeral which was held yesterday. Subscriptions to the Leader received this week are: A. L.

J. E. Davis of Waldport passed through Tuesday morning enroute for the Valley. He was accompanied by the Waldport basket ball teams who had two games scheduled in the Val ley, one with Monroe and one with Bellfountain. They have hopes of getting two more games while away and will be in Toledo Saturday evening for games with both our high school teams.
