"We were attacked by a plane and two boats with heavy fire of machine gun and cannons we have three dead and many wounded," the radio report said. The voice from the boat said shortly afterward there would be no more messages because "there is water in the radio room now." While Cuban coastal patrol boats were heard talking urgently on the Cuban frequency in their search for survivors another voice speaking in broken Spanish said a vessel called the "George had picked up two wounded survivors and the three bodies. The George which would not identify itself by nationality when queried by Cuban mil itary stations, said it put the two wounded and the bodies aboard a "North American" helicopter at 9 p.m. EST and that the helicopter was headed for Key West or Homstead Air Base, south of Miami. The dramatic report of the attack on the radio said that the attacking plane had left the scene heading toward the southwest, which would be generally in the direction of Central America, where numerous Cuban exile groups have at one time or another tried to set up bases for military actions against the Castro regime. In Miami, however, no exile group claimed credit for the attack. Apparently Don't Like Foreigners WASHINGTON (UPI) Police here were on the lookout Thursday for a couple of men who apparently don't like Russians, foreign cars or just diplomats. According to police, the two men attacked a parked Volks- wagon, which bore diplomatic tags, early Thursday slashing two tires, ripping off the radio antenna and kicking in a door. The car was owned by Nik- hail F.

The 21-year-old youth threatened to jump form ledge on the Verrazano Narrows Bridge early today for 90 minutes before he was pulled to safety from his 690-foot high perch. (UPI Telephoto) Police Pull Youth Off NY Bridge NEW YORK young man perched on a narrow beam of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge for 90 minutes early today, threatening to jump into New York Harbor.

He allowed two policemen to drag him to safety after his father scolded: "Your mother is going to be mad at you." About a dozen police and a Roman Catholic priest first attempted to coax the would-be jumper back. Then his father arrived and joined in the pleading. At the mention of his mother, the youth broke down in tears and clung docilely to the beam while two emergency squad patrolmen wearing safety belts crawled out and led him back. The beam was about 225 feet above the water. Had he jumped, Frederick Korn, 21, would have been the first suicide from the Verra- zanc-N arrows Bridge, the world's largest suspension span which links Brooklyn and Staten Island.

It opened last November. Korn, who said he was unemployed, crawled onto the beam extending about 15 feet out from the bridge deck about 1.30 a.m. EDT. While he balanced nervously there for the next hour and half, he told the police: "I'm going to jump from your bridge." Police said he repeated the threat several times. After Korn's father urged him not to jump for his mother's sake, the youth lost his composure.

Emergency squad patrolman Eric Olsen climbed over the rail and edged along the beam to reach the youth. Patrolman George Sica also crawled onto the beam and the two of them grabbed Korn and pulled him back. He made no attempt to wrestle free and his death threats, police said. Hayes Ave. Next time You Hear Plane WASHINGTON (UPI If you have a radio-controlled garage door, lower the antenna or you might find an plane trying to land in the driveway. FFA disclosed Thursday that such doors can Inadvertently emit radio signals hazardous to air navigation. The agency said it has found 58 garage-openers in the Los Angeles area alone which were interfering with air navigation signals, in some cases strong enough to be picked up by aircraft 16 miles away. "Thus it would be possible for a pilot to inadvertently 'home in' on a garage door signal and fly directly toward it with great accuracy-conceivably with disatrous results," the FAA warned.

The new rule permits students to possess and use the low- power beer in residences, certain areas of dormitories and in some other specified areas on the campus.

Beer will not, however, be sold on the campus. Students will have to supply their own beer. Included in the areas where students will be permitted to have beer will be in a skeller which is now being modelled and which will be open in September. Beer, however, will not be for sale there. College trustees last March left the decision on whether to take the college off the dry list to the faculty.
