-022211 Obituaries GEHMLICH, LaVonne LaVonne Gehmlich of Sherwood Park, Alberta, beloved wife of Grant, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Friday, October 7, 2005 in Edmonton at the age of 65. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children; Troy Gehmlich, Michelle (Chris) Dugan, Michael (Heidi) Gehmlich, and five grandchildren; Cassandra, Jessica, Hannah, Hailey and Adam. She is also survived by her siblings; Garth Leavitt, Pamela (Murray) Stovel, Bruce (Sue) Leavitt, Steven (Pat) Leavitt and Carma (Duane) Thomson. LaVonne was born and raised in Glenwood, Alberta. She attended university at BYU and of then taught school for many years.

She and Grant raised their children in Sherwood Park, where she was also co-director Medallion Family Day Home Agency. She was very devoted to serving her family, her church, and her community. Her compassion and unconditional love for others touched the lives of all who knew her. Appreciation is extended to the faculty and staff of the University of Alberta Hospital, especially the heart transplant team. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2005.

Inez and her husband Rod farmed in Leduc, Alberta until 1958 when they moved to Edmonton. They subsequently moved to Toronto, Ontario 1969, and then to Collingwood, Ontario in 1974 where she was employed by Dr. David Ripley. Inez was very active in the Collingwood Community, volunteering and participating in a number of organizations. Her affiliation and participation in the First Presbyterian Church was central to her life.

Inez traveled widely and was a devotee of the arts. She especially enjoyed fine music and the theatre. Her energy, kind manner and youthful spirit made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be fondly remembered by all she touched. Special thanks for the compassionate care given to her by General and Marine Hospital and the Bayhaven Retirement Community.

She is lovingly remembered and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Otto was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan April 5, 1915.

After many years of drought, he moved to Alberta to find work at the age of 18. He was a farmer, and worked at Camrose Pipe for a few years. When he retired, he still liked to work outdoors, read, and have coffee with his friends. He will be remembered by his daughter Sandra Nelson; grandsons Erik (his son Zane), Marc; grandchildren Dale, Glenda (Johal) and son Braedan, Stephanie Leonhardt; his brother Walter (Margaret); brother-in-law Gus Tonn (Nana); sisterin-law Clara Tonn; as well as other family and friends. He was predeceased by an infant brother, wife Ida, daughter Betty, sister Elma (Ed), son-in-law Wayne, his parents, as well as other family.

034945 SWEET, Wayne On Wednesday, October 11, Wayne Sweet of Vermilion and formerly of Dewberry passed away at the Vermilion Health Care Complex, Vermilion at the age of 66 years. Wayne is survived by his wife Lori Vermilion, three sons: Todd (Dena) of Hinton, AB, Ryan (Cindy) of St. Albert, Cameron (Danielle Thompson) of Lloydminster, one step-son, Scott Fraser, of Edmonton, two grandchildren: Zachary and Nicholas; three brothers: Floyd (Lil) of Vermilion, Earl (Sherry) of Prince George, BC, Dale of Wainwright; one sister, Verla (Jerry) Kiehlbauch of Carrot Creek, AB; one sister-in-law, Judy Sweet, of Drayton Valley as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Strobl of Edmonton. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Veril and Margaret Sweet, brother, Garth, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Neil Franklin, and niece Leanne Sweet. A Funeral Service for Wayne Sweet will be conducted from the Alliance Church in Vermilion, Alberta on Friday, October 14 at 2:00 P.M.
