8 HEGISTER STAR-NEWS SRBduiky, 0., Mar. 3, 1954 Two Of Wounded Soloiis Give Idea On Protection WASHINGTON, March 3 of the House mem- ben wounded by Ptierto Nationalists Monday came up with their own ideas today i OB how Congress should be Protected from future gun- Itotinr spectators. Rep. Kenneth A. Roberts (D- noted that Capitol police cameras but don't check guns, and suggested spectators be screened by an elecU-ic metallic device.

He also sai'l the personal protection of FBI agents might be necessary for members of Congress. Rep. George Fallon vho like Roberts is recovering from wounds suffered during Monday's attack on Congress, proposed enclosing the visitors' galleries with bullet-proof glass so ''House members won't be just like silting ducks." HOUSE OFFICIALS already were taking some secuinty steps as a result of the shooting in which five representatives were wounded. Guards were greatly increased. All gallery passes were taken up and members were made strictly responsible for new ones they issue to visitors.

Experts felt the metallic detection device might not be practical since it picks up any metal in just firearms. The FBI also was believed needed more urgently elsewhere. BUT THE IDEA of a glass partition drew considerable support. Rep. Overton Brooks introduced a bill Tuesday to authorize the Capitol ai'chitect to install the bullet-proof glass enclosure.

A loudspeaker system would be used to bring the proceedings into the gjased-in gallery. Follow Hubby's Own Example SAN FRANCISCO, March 3 (UP) Elena Santana, 35, explained in divorce court Tuesday why she threw $5,000 in cash off the Golden Gat Bridge. "My husband throws his money away gambling," she said, "and I can throw mine away too." Everyones Irish CHICAGO, March 3 rhissioner John J. Duffy of Cook County board suggested that only county employes of Irish descent be given a holiday on St. Patrick's Day.

The board overruled him and gave the entire force of 7,000 ployes the day off. "On St. Patrick's Day," the board said, "everyone is Irish." Woodville Man Gets 1-20 Year Pen Term Sentence Glenn Gallup For Death Of Wife, Susan. FREMONT, March 3 Glenn Gallup, 55, Woodville quarry worker, was sentenced today by A. V.

Baumann to serve one to twenty years in the Oliio penitentiary for killing his wife, Susan, 45. Gallup pleaded guilty of first dcgrae manslaughter, admitting he had shoved his wife on a stairway during an argument, her head striking the rail. She was hurt Jan. 20, dying Feb. 10.

The man had denied striking her until a lie detector test to which he submitted in Toledo revealed his story was false. Gallup had asked Judge Baumann for probation, but was refused it.
