-045733 SOKOLOWSKI, Theodore "Ted" Stanley Mr. Ted Sokolowski a resident of Forestburg, Alberta passed away at the Daysland Health Centre Friday, October 23, 1998 at the age of 67 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Moira Sokolowski; children, Sharon LeBlanc, Gary Sokolowski, Terry Sokolowski, dale Sokolowski and Kelly Sokolowski. Forever Remembered -051661 VREELAND, Oliver Henry On Sunday, October 25, 1998 Oliver Henry Vreeland of Edmonton, formerly of Kelowna, passed away at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish his memories, Oliver is survived by Linda, his wife for 55 years; son, Timothy (Mickie), grandson, Scott; daughter, Brenda (Terry) Kozmech, grandsons, Kevin (Stacey) and Aaron; stepson, Wesley Colebrook, granddaughters, Carrie-Lynn and Sharon; sister, Doris Stephan; as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence, Lillian; and brother, Robert. Oliver spent most of his life as a resident of Mirror and Edmonton, Alberta, before retiring from the Canadian National Railway in 1976. Oliver and Linda moved to Kelowna, British Columbia where they resided for 22 years, before he became ill.

Phone 1-403-385-3642. -047322 PIDHIRNEY, H. M. "Mike" "Mike" Pidhirney passed away on Saturday, October 17, 1998 at the Coronation Health Centre, Coronation, Alberta, at the age 91 years. Mike was born November 7, 1906 in Stuartburn, Manitoba.

While working in Bruderheim, Alberta he met and married Ivy on July 31, 1938. After farming and running the Hemaruka Store and Post Office they retired to Veteran, Alberta. Mike was instrumental in Organization of Electrification in the Hemaruka area and was active in the UFA movement. He was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, fishing and discing as well as playing cards of any kind and in particular the game of crib. Mike will be forever remembered by his sons, Herb (Judy), Don- (Cathy), Merle (Judy), eight grandchildren; Michelle, Ken, Christine, Jason, Tammy, Adrian, Stacey and Dawn; greatgranddaughter, Kellie (Squirt); one brother, Pete Pidhirney and two sisters-in-law, Effie Barber and Ada Fraser.

Mike was predeceased by his wife, Ivy on August 22 of this year; by his parents, Fedor and Aksena; two brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services were held at the Veteran Full Gospel Church, Veteran, Alberta on Saturday, October 24, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don MacNaughton officiating. A Tribute to Mike was given by his granddaughter, Michelle Pidhirney. Soloist, Vern Durksen sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and was accompanied by Mrs.

Carolyn Devereux playing the organ. Congregational Hymns were "Amazing Grace" and "Just a Closer Walk With Pallbearers were Carter Stickel, Wayne Pidhirney, David Ansell, Dwayne Glasier, Roy Sirman and Terry Schetzsle. Interment followed at the Veteran Cemetery, Veteran, Alberta. Following the service, Mike's family and friends shared a time of fellowship and light refreshments at the Veteran Community Hall, prepared by the Veteran U.C.W. Ladies.

Irene May Rowat, of Red Deer, died at the Dr. Richard Parson's Auxiliary Hospital, Red Deer, on Saturday, October 24, 1998 at the age of 91 years. She was born Irene Jamieson, on May 24, 1907, the second child of Great Bend homesteaders, William and Christina Jamieson. Her grandparents, Henry and Marion Jamieson were also early settlers in the Red Deer district, having come to the Red Deer area in the Irene spent most of her life in the Central Alberta area. She began her teaching career at Delburne and then moved to Clyde, where she met and married Lance Rowat.

While at Clyde their two children, Joyce and Bill were born. After spending eighteen months in B.C. the family spent the rest of their life in or near Red Deer. Irene was at the Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School until her retirement in 1972. Irene took great joy in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews, and will always be remembered for her interest in and caring help of so many young people over the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce and her husband Bill Beecroft of Edmonton; her son, Bill and his wife Marion of Red Deer; her seven grandchildren, John (Gail) Coffin, Debbie (Bill) Kennedy, Tracy Coffin, Alexander Beecroft, Brad (Judy) Rowat, Terri (Brian) Hodgson, and Carrie (Robert) DeAngelo; and her ten greatgrandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Lance; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Saturday, October 31, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter in 1975 and second husband, Alex Andrusiw in 1991; her three brothers, William, Theodore, and Stephan in Ukraine.
