Page 2 Wednesday, July 26, 1989 West Carroll Gazette Upcoming July 28-29 The Oak Grove Rodeo Arena will be the sight of the LRA Tri State Rodeo featuring Rudy Burns on July 28 and 29 at p.m. Admission is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Friday night students will 1 be admitted free. A merchant's dress contest will be judged Wednesday July 26 with the winners to be announced and trophies presented at the Street Dance which will be held Thursday, July 27. Midnight Country will be featured.

This event is sponsored by the West Carroll Chamber of Commerce and the West Carroll Rodeo Association. Come and join the festivities. There will be food and fun for all. July 30 West Carroll 5th Sunday Singing will be held at Lakeside Assembly of God Sunday, July 30 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Bobby Brumley, president of the convention, invites you to attend.

August 4-5 August 4th and 5th, the people of White Oaks Terrace Apartments and some of the West Carroll Council on Aging staff will be having a rummage sale. It will begin each day at 7 a.m. and will be held at the White Oaks Apartment Complex. There will be a variety of things for sale. Sunday, July 30: Roast beef, creamed potatoes with gravy, steamed cauliflower with cheese sauce, cabbage, carrot slaw, biscuit, milk, lemon bundt cake.

Monday, July 31: Hot dogs and chili, cheese, onions and mustard, tater tots, carrot, raisin salad, pear halves, milk. Foster parents Foster and adoptive parents are needed desperately in West Carroll and surrounding parishes. Officials say that a large number of children are in need of long term care. New programs are making adoption and foster care more feasible for many people if you are a potential foster or adoptive parent call 362-3337 and ask for Angie or 428-3252 and talk to Melba. Baum reunion The second annual Baum Family reunion will be held Saturday, August 5 at the L.P.

Neilsen reunion Sunday, August 6, is the date for the Neilsen Family reunion, which will be held at the Delhi County Club. All members are urged to bring a covered dish.

Mrs. Warlick died Monday, July 17, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a former resident of West Carroll parish and a graduate of Pioneer High School. Survivors include her husband, Julias C. Warlick, of Monroe; three daughters, Sue Strickland, of Atlanta, Gay Warlick, of Monroe; Kay Eppinette, of St.

Joseph; one son, Gary Warlick, of St. Joseph; four brothers, L.L. Smith and Grady W. Smoth, both of Bastrop; W.L. "Dub" Smith, of Oak Grove; and W.

Lee Smith, of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Dorothy Sharpe, Angie Wisener, Olivia Brakefield, Eva Campbell and Lessie McDowell, all of Bastrop; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kenny Galyean, Charles Martin, Purvis Bridges, Jack Evans, Dale Green, Bob Daniels, Don Keni'son and Pat Golliher: Honorary pallbearers Jimmy Simmons, Robby Simmons, Brian Eppinette, Greg Warlick and Brad Warlick. Taylor, of Mission Viejo, two daughters, Ms. Janette E. Taylor, of Waveland, and Mrs. Jo Elaine Devall, of Gulfport; a brother, Hope Roberts, of Darnell; a sister, Mrs. Dora Nelson, of Monroe; and ten grandchildren.

Ozell Waltman Services for Mr. Ozell Waltman, 60, were held Friday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Alford Garvin officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery for Mr.

Waltman who passed away Wednesday, July 19 in Monroe. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M.
