That would be a truth in labeling label for consumers if the Food Drugs Administration was doing its job. The FDA and Clintonomic coconspirators are out to insure that NO such label is required by law. Milk used to be so simple.

Cows eat grass and out comes milk. It seems so simple. Three glasses a day of the soft soft drink built healthy bones. Now Big Sister wants to introduce us to Bovine Growth Hormones so fewer cows will give more milk. Please, ask why? It is not because there is a shortage of milk.

Taxpayers' millions are already spent to subsidize milk and store the over production, it creates, rather than eliminates a potent health hazard, hazards like increased disease in cattle and increased risks of breast cancer in human women and unregulated ingesting of animal antibiotics by consumers, it is not that new. NAFTA meat coming from Canada is routinely stamped USDA Inspected, without the treaty busting trouble of really inspecting it. It is the same with psuedo-wines. The Big Vineyards were aghast when Big Brother feigned putting their pet industry under truth in labeling law. The very thought that the consumer might get to read what additives he or she was 'cooling down sent the fat cats to the Beltway Pork Barrel quick.

Call or write your legislators now and tell them to just say NO to drugs like BHT. And be sure to say grace BEFORE meals. It is not just a quaint habit anymore! ffcMVKZ WW nr MISTS MAv, Editor's Letters A TJie Tensas Gazette Dear Editor Ma'dam Sha-Lah'Lah, started a bra-ha-ha, Joycclyn elder just bubbles; Both ladies agree we should throw in for free, condoms with cheese and thereby end all of our troubles! If you will please try to stop and think just one moment, stop and ask yourself, when did America begin the present moral decline? When did crime first begin to spin out of control? When did the national budget become uncontrollable? When did illegitimacy first find acceptance? This all began in 1962-63. What is significant about that period? It is the period that the Supreme Court issued a series of opinions that expelled God from our national life. Prayer in school was forbidden, religious symbols that the people of this nation had identified with from the beginning were suddenly forbidden.

Although, every philosopher, every historian, every educated person, every thinking person, everyone with the ability to reason, knew full well that a civilization cannot be built or maintained on a secular idea alone. This nonsense from the court was accepted passively. I have never believed that the men who issued and concurred in this blatant attack on religion, especially the Christian religion, believed what they were saying. Some day history will reveal what the motivation was. None of us will be here to share in the revelation, but I pray our posterity will know and understand the price we pay for ignorance and complacency.

Even as we sung hymns and preached sermons about our blessings, we were at the same time enslaving ourselves. One of the dearest and strongest weapons against slavery is Honor on the pan of those elected to govern, those appointed to dispense justice, those who collect and disburse public funds, those who sign the petitions, and the common man who pays for it all; yet, honorable men today are attacked as prudes, virtuous ladies are scored as Victorian grandstanders and common decency is said to be I have been asked many times to be more specific about my argument that transfer of wealth through taxation is 'slavery'. Remem- QWake Up America As a member of the NRA I was unaware of all the bills being introduced into Congress until I received this notice from the NRA. I thought your readers would like to be informed as well. You can stop this assault on your civil rights -on your freedom to keep and bear arms. You can tell your Congressman that you refuse to be blamed for the violent acts of criminals. You can tell your Congressman that you are sick and tired of being told to justify your need to own this or that. Remind your Congressman that in America we have a "Bill of not a "Bill of Needs." Call your Congressman, ask ten of your friends to call, visit your Congressman's district office with your friends, attend town meetings. Call your Congressman in Washington at 202-224-3121.

Vic Mahoney, Jr. At least 16 gun ban bills pending now! Your gun rights, your freedom hang in the balance! Today at least 16 gun ban bills have introduced in Congress. One has already passed the U.S. Senate as part of its crime bill, and there will be more. Some bills ban long guns, others ban handguns -some go after all your guns.

No matter what kind of gun you own sooner or later your gun will be on someone's ban list if it is not already. The anti- gunners also want to tell you what types of ammunition you can own and what size magazines you can own. They want you to believe that disarming law-abiding citizens will make you and your family safer. Gun Ban Bills Now In The United States Con gress: 108. bans many imported guns, 639 bans ADavidH.

Bell Inspiration! The dictionary says one thing but I say another. To me it is a factor that makes one do certain things, say certain things and above all try to help save your country from those who want to take it away from you. My people fought for this country in 1776 in the revolutionary Wan in 1814 at the Battle of.New Orleans against the British; four years with General Nathan Bedford Forrest during the War between the States and more recently myself in World War II against the Japanese. When I think about where our beloved America is headed, which is towards a One World Government, I can't help but think that I would be a traitor not only to my family, but also to my country if I did nothing to stop this concept. God forbid! Somewhere somebody is depending on you for their future.

They may not be aware of it at this very time, but they are. Those of you who are old enough know exactly what I am saying and in time those who are too young to know or realize will one day sit in the seat we now sit in. Hopefully they will thank us, but if not we will have preserved the most wonderful country God ever made. Everything associated with the United Nations is against our Judeo-Christian belief and that of our Founding Fathers. Just what does the United Nations want from us? Let me tell you a few of the things they want.

1. Promote the United Nations as the only hope for mankind. 2. Do away with all loyalty oaths. 3.

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken American institutions by claiming the violation of civil rights. 4. Get control of the schools. 5. Infiltrate the press and gain control of it.

6. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling it "censorship" and a violation of free press and free speech. 7. Present homosexuality and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy." My faith in you, the American people, is un-shakeable. My only concern at this time is when will you WAKE UP AMERICA and be able to answer God when He looks you in the eye and says "What did you do to save America, the land I gave to you, from this evil group?" I know what I can say.

Editor's Note: The following memo was received by our office from Representative Bryant O.

Hammett, Jr. to let the readers know how to contact him while he attends the regular legislative session. Dear Readers, The regular session of the legislature convenes at noon on April 25, 1994. In an effort to better represent you, I will be spending a great deal of A shot in the dark ber, most people, especially politicians look at tax money as everybody's money and following with, everybody's- money is nobody's money. Here are just a few things the politicians do with the money they take from you.

The following from a list contained in the book, "A Call For by Martin Gross. (1) $107,000.00 to study the sex life of the Japanese quail! (2) $500,000.00 to build a replica of the great pyramid of Egypt, in Indiana! (3) $315,000.00 to memorialize the South Carolina, home of Charles Pincney, a signer of the U.S. Constitution. Even though Mr. Pincney died before the house was built! (4) $23 million spent by the post office on a consultant to find out how long it takes for the mail to be delivered! (5) $5 million to renovate buildings and finish an aircraft hanger at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in 'Michigan months after it had been confirmed the base would be closed! (6) $7 million to study air pollution in Mexico City! (7) $995,000.00 for a performing arts center in north Miami.

(8) $2.3 million to bring seven hundred workers to San Diego from all over America, as far away as Alaska, to photograph records of a defunct savings and loan! (9) $500,000.00 to memorialize Cordell Hull, Secretary of State Under Franklin D. Roosevelt! An unrevealed amount for seventy census department workers to count the population of Bangladesh and 225 other contries. Something not mentioned when the Constitution set up the dicennial census. (10) $5 million for a new parliament building for the Solomon Islands in the Pacific. Problem is, the island is part of the British Commonwealth! (11) $1 million for a Utah study on how to cross the street safely (12) $100,000.00 to find out why people don't like beets! $90,000.00 to study the social (sex) life of vegetarians, there's more, lots more! Ask yourself, would an honorable God fearing American spend the hard earned wages of law abiding, tax paying, citizens in such a manner? Honor, the missing ingredient! No nation can exist without honor! about Tensas farish just the way it is, but change for Tensas Parish is in our future if we are to have a future in Tensas.

Tensas has a chance to come together in a very unique way to create the kind of change for our Parish that would create jobs, retrain our labor force, rebuild our hospital, revitalize our downtown areas, increase tourism, improve our schools, build parks and recreational facilities, and expand our existing businesses. What miracle is this, no miracle at all, "it is a shot in the dark" says Buddy Spillers, Director of the Macon Ridge Economic Development Region, Inc. the entity that will be writing the application for the "rural empowerment zone" in which Tensas Parish will be included. Our best shot in the dark will have to come from each and every citizen of Tensas Parish. If there was only one thing that could stay the same and not change about our Parish, I would want it to be our people, because I have seen what our people can accomplish when they come together.

A shot in the dark, yes maybe, but a shot in the dark is better than no shot at all. Get involved if not for yourself then for your neighbor and attend the first in a series of Town meetings starting Thursday April 21 at the Community House in St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. Jane Netterville 'Tensas Parish will never "we like things the way they "the big fanners do not want an industry in Tensas to compete with their labor "no industry will come to Tensas because of our labor I have heard these sayings more times than a few in the fifteen years that I have lived in Tensas Parish, but Tensas Parish has changed. The days when young couples could raise their family on their small farm has long since gone.

So many have been forced into bankruptcy and had to leave their homes for jobs in bigger cities. Tensas Parish has changed. We no longer have a hospital to care of our sick and elderly. Our schools, private and public, have suffered from the loss of revenue and students. No resident of Tensas Parish can say "we like things the way they are" when our poverty rate is at 56 percent, and our population has dwindled to less than 7100 people and we are wondering who will be the next family to pack up and leave, not because they want to, but because they have to survive.

The saying "the big fanners do not want an industry to compete with their labor force" is no longer true today when machinery takes the place of laborers. What are those laborers going to do? We need a way to educate these laborers in order to create the skilled labor force industries need. There are things about Tensas Parish i would not want to change. There are things I do like The Tensas Gazette USPS 539500 ESTABLISHED IN 1852 P.O. Box 25 St Joseph, LA 71366 PUBLISHED EVERY WEDNESDAY Patricia Wilds Myers Pub.
