The Florida Marlins signed three players to minor-league contracts Wednesday, including ex-1986 Trapper of the Year Gus Polidor, and assigned the trio to Edmonton. Polidor, 31, played three seasons with Edmonton, accumulating a 295 batting average in 262 games and setting a PCL record for shortstops with a .986 fielding percentage in 1986. Polidor, a 12-year veteran, played the last two seasons with the Tacoma Tigers. Also signed was infielder Chuck Jackson, 28, and catcher Mitch Ly-den, 27. Jackson hit .260 with 10 homers for Oklahoma City in 1992, while Lyden hit .258 with 14 homers for Tidewater, last season.

Jackson is returning to the PCL. He spent 1991 with Calgary, hitting 15 homers with 85 RBI.
