TBS Railroad. Yesterday about noon, Johnafhan A. Long, a resident of this city, aged 32 yeara, wm killed on the Lebanon Valley He was tending the switch at the time, and the train, which wa3 backlog run over and killed hici. Burglars the burglar3 are captured 1 and to the disgrace of our city be it aid, they are boys On Sunday night Policeman Zimmerman came upon them as tbey 'were rumanaging the office of Joshua Keely, Esq, Lumber merchant, and arrested five of them, the largest one being 14 years old! subsequently he arrested a sixth, and another one supposed to be the right leader is wainted. lis Honor, one of the least of the boys made a clear breast of it, and acknowledged that they were concerned in the robbery, of the office at Eckert's Furnace, Where they got some 130; at Dysher's Lumber Yard, where they got little or nothing, and at tho place where they were captured.

This equals the exploits Jack Sbeppard; and like that elegant rogue, these boys have no doubt grown up men for tutors. It is utterly impossible that they should of their own accord concoct and carry into execution plans (hat would not disgrace, or rather that would old and experienced hands at the business. We Bincerely sympathize with the parents of some of these children, in this worst affliction that could befall them, and call upon the authorities to devise some plan to prevent our youths from going to ruin in this wholesale manner. We want an Ordinance preventing boys of their age being on the streets af'er nine o'clock, without permission from their parents. There could be no objection to sach an Ordinance, and our city fathers owe it to 'their constituents to provide Fame means to prevent our children from being corrupted in this Banner.

The state of the times require more than ordinary care, and a return to the old rules, and regulations to which youths were subjected for their? own good' in the good olJ times is necessary. Ron Otjt. We are informed (bat the city appropriation is run out. There are now S2C men enlisted in this city. If this will fill the the quoto, all right.

Ifot let the coun. cils come up to the mark, and appropriate wore the people of this city do not tcant a draft; and are willing to pay for filling up the quota. It is too laic to hang back now. A permanent peace, and a re union of the State's is worth all the money in creatiorr and if our councils would go back on us now, eternal execration would be their just due. Ninth Army Cobps.

I3y reference to a Notice in another column it will be observed thatGn. Bnrnside has recuved authority to reeruit this splendid Corps to fifty thousand men for special service, to be hereafter designated by the War Department. The Fiftieth Regiment, now here, belongs to the Corps. Every effort should be made hen and eUeffbera to procure recruits by offering liberal bouuties, so that the regiments of the Corps belonging to the State, maybe sent back with full ranks to give the final blow to the Rebellion. The recruiting station of the Fiftieth is here.

Energy and liberality will not only fill up the ranks of the Ninth Corps, but relieve us of the draft which will take phco on the 10 of next month, unless our quotas are filled by that time with volunteers. This is an important matter, and immediate, decisive action is necessary. See Capt. Lantz's advertisement in another column. He receives recruits for the 60th Regiment, P.

V. Coinq Ahead Yesterday morning we noticed another lot of recrui's leave to join the Army. They were young but solid, and we trust their campaign may be a short on The energy displayed by our people in ro io. forcing the Army, should bring about the much desired peace during the coming summer. The Government will have the soldiers and we trust it will make the best use of them.

We want as fw battlea as possible; but if a battle is necessary to bring about peaoe let us have it, and finish the business. It is not desirable that we should drug along this war any longer. The Republic has other work to do, and this war will prepnie it to do it do right. Erlhim Young in no hurry to hv lie ttX'iiC Utah wjrke l. He ray When it ii oicesMry that we thwU poeM gol i io unun junon ne j.ord will Hiow it to us A MoDEif Barber Shop.

The Barber Shop is an institution without which Ameri cans cannot do; and as our people are very fastidious in this respect, a shop in which they are sure of a good shave; a polite and accomplished Barber, and superior accommodations, is a perfect Elysium to tbera. Professor' Nelson, having just refitted his shop in the best style, can offer all these and although popular before, he will doubtless add lately to his list of customers. A visit to his place will well repay any one, and we can recommend the Professor as A. No. 1, in his line.
