M-2 The Evening Sun Saturday. January 20, 1973 Services Sunday For Dr. M. Gross F'uneral services for Dr. Martin Gross, former director of research at Springfield State Hospital, will be held vSunday at Sol Levinson and Baltimore, at 9:30 a.m.

Dr. Gross, a resident of Westminster, died suddenly on Wednesday morning while vacationing with his wife in F'lorida. Dr. Gross was born in 1898 in Gelsenkerchen. Germany, and received his M.D..

degree in 1924 from Hamburg Deaths rs. Rosario Taiiibiiro Mrs. Augustiir Tamburo. died at her home, ii () i a Keisterstown. yesterday.

She born in Baltimore, a (laughter of the late Theodore and Marie Katlano Palmisano. Her husband. Hosario Tamburo. died in 1962. She is survived by two daughters and one son.

Mrs. Hose Ward and Mrs. Marie Merani. Baltimore; and Stephen Tamburo. Sykesville; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Christian Wake service will be held at the Eckhardt funeral chapel, Owings Mills. Sunday at 8 p.m.. followed by a Requiem Monday at 9 a at the Sacred Heart ('atholic ('hurch. Glyndon. Tfie Rev.

Mrs. Guy L. Fowler Mrs. Maisie Frances F'owler, 83. died early this morning from a heart attack at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Lewis Fowler. 3028 Oak Forest Drive.

Parkville, with whom she had been residing since 1949. She and her husband, Guy Fowler, who died in December 1939. were former Westminster residents, having lived on East Green St. She was born in Waynesboro. the daughter of the late (reorge W.

and Anges Stocksdale Smith. She was a member of Hiss United Methodist Church. Parkville. She was a graduate of College, Chambersburg, and attended Shippensburg State Teachers College. She was a past president of the Westminster Senior Club.

Surviving her besides her son, are a sister. Miss P'. Louise Smith. Waynesboro, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.

at the Myers funeral home, Westminster. Her pastor, the Rev. C. Roger Elgert, will officiate, and burial will be in the Westminster Cemetery. PYiends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday from 3 to and 7 to 9 p.m.

He came to the United States in 1939, serving with the New York Medical School and York of Medicine, before moving to Maryland in 1940 as staff physician at Crown- svillo State Hospital. In 1943, he was appointed Associate Professor at Yale University.

He returned to Maryland in 1947 as a division chief at Springfield State Hospital, remaining in that position until 1958. when he was appointed of research at the institution, a position he held until his rettirement in 1967. Dr. Gross introduced the use of psychotropic drugs in 1955. He was tlie principal investigator in several research projects on the use of psycho-active drugs in the treatment of the mentally ill and worked closely with scientists at the National Institutes of Mental Health.

His studies were widely published in psychiatric, neurological and research journals Dr Gross, certified by the Board of P.sychiatry and in 1954, was Assistant Professor Emeritus. Johns Hopkins, School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus, University of Maryland, School of Medicine. He served as consultant to the Social Security Administration, and the Western Maryland and was consultant psychiatrist on the staff the ('arroll ounty General Hospital. He was a member of the American Medical Fellow of the American Psychiatric past president of the Carroll County Medical and member of the Society for Biological Psychiatry. He is survived by his wife Dr.

848-7533 Police Hunting Larceny Suspect, 2 Juveniles Charges are pending against two juveniles and there is a prime adult suspect in the larceny of a jeep which ended in a police chase and the vehicle being demolished early Thursday, Westminster City Police Chief LeRoy Day said this morning. Chief Day said the jeep, owned by C. Babylon of Westminster, operated by her niece was stolen by the adult from behind Whitefore Hall on the Western Maryland College campus between midnight and 7 a.m. on Thursday.
