VJhere they've goneli regressive 4-H tub has meeting THOMAS V. Forburger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Forburger, Wesley, graduated from the Armed Forces Staff College at Not' folk, JUne 28.

He was one of 269 graduating students representing alt services of the armed forces of the United States, U. S. government agencies and five allied nations. Sir Patrick Dean, British Ambassador to the United States, delivered the graduation address. The Armed Forces Staff College, established in 1946, is operated under the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Department of Defense.

Major Forburger has the honor of being among the youngest, if not the youngest, to ever graduate from this college. A 1954 graduate of Wesley High School, he received his commission through the He- serve Officers" Training Corps program at Iowa State University, Ames, where he. received his B. S. degree in 1958.

He is a member of Thi Kappa Theta fraternity, of which he was president in his senior year. MAJOR FORBURGER entered active duty in 1958. In 1959 he went to Germany for three years where he was stationed at Wcisbaden-Kais- er Slautern. His wife, the former Julia Raney, daughter of Dr. and H.

H. Raney of Wesley, went to Germany later and their first two children, Jeffrey Major Thomas Forburgtr and Jim, were born while they were stationed there. They also have another son and daughter, Ann and Tommy. Following more schooling at Fort Sill, Okla. and Fort Bliss, Texas, Major Forburger went to Vietnam in 1966, where he spent a year.

He holds the Bronx.e Star Medal, two awards of the Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnamese Medal of Honor. The Major will now go to the Office of Personnel Operations, Department of the Army, at Washington, D. C. IIHtMIMMMMMMmi ROTC training "MIKE" KAIN, son of the Ed Kains of Algona, is among Army ROTC cadets from South Dakota State University participating this summer in training for six weeks at Fort Riley, Karis. Camp activities include leadership training, weapons training, map reading, tactics, studies of general military subjects and a one week field bivouac.

Charles, where they will visit Mrs. Angle's parents before returning to their home in California. Gary had eye surgery in May and this vacation was ordered by his doctor. He had only started on a new job with Monsanto Company when, his eye trouble started. It will be a year before they know the extent of damage that has been done to his eye.

Jerry Chiles, who hit ed as Seminarian at the St. Thomas Episcopal church in Algona, will leave the first of next week after a year's duty here. He will preach the sermon this Sunday at St. Thomas and a farewell party for him, as well as-a welcoming party for new pastor Father Thomas Gwinn, will be held Thursday night at the church.

In the Tern Simpson home this past Ifriday was an aunt, Laura Hemingway and a friend from Scottsdale, Arizona. Sunday guests were the Don Willasons, Waterloo and his mother, Mrs. Esther Wiilason, Algoha. Visitirtg Tuesday morning were the Victor Sampsons, ft. Laudef- dale, Fla.

The latter guests all attended the Parsons- Walker wedding Saturday night. Pilfer and Hawkins and daughters, Barbara and Cecelia left Monday morning to vacation in Colorado and points west.
