D4 THE EDMONTON JOURNAL, Tuesday, February 4, 1986 Announcements Cashier testifies about alleged bingo cheating called the provincial Gaming Con By JEFF HOLUBITSKY Journal Staff Writer When numbers on a winning bingo card didn't match with a master book, cashier Louita Rud-nisky stalled for time to call police, court heard Monday. Rudnisky, a cashier and caller at -Northgate Bingo Hall, was testifying at the Court of Queen's Bench trial of Alice Deanna Lewis. Lewis is charged with unlawfully cheating while playing a game in this case bingo with the intent to defraud the persons playing the game and the Lauderdale Community League, Rudnisky said that on Nov. 24, t84, Lewis declared a bingo in a bonanza game. Forty-eight numbers out of 75 had been called.

All numbers on a card must be marked to be a winner, she said. win was worth $1,416, but the money was not paid out and is in a trust account, court heard. Another player checked the card by comparing it to numbers not called in the game and an usher brought the card to her, said Rudnisky. Rudnisky then checked the card against a master book containing duplicates of all cards sold and discovered discrepancies in some of the numbers. When Lewis approached her about 10 minutes later, Rudnisky said she told the accused she had asked for a master book from another hall.

Michael Swan, suddenly, near White-court, Alberta on February 1, 1986. Beloved son of Gretton and Veronica-Swan of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Michael was born in Innisfail, March 31, 1954. He graduated from McCoy High School (Medicine Hat) in 1972. He continued his studies at the University of Alberta and graduated with aB.Sc.

(Forestry) in 1977. Upon graduation he was employed by the Alberta Forest Service with the Bow Crow Forest in Calgary. He recently transferred to Peace River office where he worked until the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, Gretton and Veronica Swan of Medicine Hat; four sisters, Rosaleen (Greenwood) and Deirdre, Edmonton, Patricia, Waterloo, Ontario, Mary, Medicine Hat and one brother, Philip, Calgary and-two nephews, James and Jonathan GreeTWbod and one niece, Sarah Greenwood, Edmonton. Dr. Eardley S. Allin, 78, died Sunday in Victoria following a bout with cancer and heart trouble. Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Allin was a member of the prominent medical family that established the Allin Clinic.

After obtaining his BSc from the University of Alberta in 1927, he went to Toronto to get his MD and worked for a year as a surgeon at Toronto General Hospital. He established his Edmonton practice in 1935 and worked here until his retirement in 1978. He was a surgeon at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in 1950 when he separated the Townsend twins, two baby girls from Tofield who were joined at the abdomen. Dr. Allin is survived by his wife Jane, in Victoria, and four children.
