EDMONTON JOURNAL. Tuesday. December 12. 1978 Business veteran dies of stroke Jack Marshall, a veteran businessman, died Nov. 23 of a i in Vancouver.

He was 71. Born in Calgary, Mr. Marshall moved to Edmonton in his teens. He joined what is now the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce upon high school graduation. Moving into automobile sales, he was employed by Edmonton Motors, and spent several years with the firm as sales manager.

Continuing in the automobile field. Mr. Marshall moved to Vancouver to establish his own dealership which he managed until his death. Mr. Marshall was an award-winning tennis player.

and enjoyed golfing. He is survived by two sons, Gordon and Jimmy of Vancouver, a sister, Florence Davidson of Edmonton, five grandchildren in Vancouver and four nieces. NEED A GIFT IDEA? Two arrested in separate stabbings Police have arrested two persons in separate incidents and charged them each with wounding with intent, a spokesman said today. A 20-year-old Edmonton man is in custody following what police termed "a severe beating" of a 22-year-old woman early today. Police went to the Riverview Hotel at 95th Street and 101A Avenue and found a woman suffering facial injuries. The victim was admitted to a hospital and was recovering. Her cuts required 19 stitches.

In another incident. police arrested an Edson man after a stabbing at a restaurant. Police said three men were sitting in a restaurant at the Pacific 66 service station on Highway 16 west. One man slashed another man when he refused to fight. A 37-year-old Edmonton man was recovering in hospital.
