The Cosmopolitan Club was organizing a new band for adults who had never plared musical instruments.

Music director Harry Pin-chin predicted at the time it would take about six months of practice for the new band to sound good. Tomorrow, the new Cosmopolitan Adult Band will play its premiere performance in the Cosmopolitan Music Society's sixth annual Mother's Day Concert The free concert, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Jubilee Auditorium, will be headlined by the Cosmopolitan Senior Concert Band, and will also feature the Cosmopolitan Youth Band. About 75 or 80 people responded to the idea of learning to play a musical instrument for the new band, and director Pinchin was "pleasantly surprised" that 60 of them would "do so well and stick to It is these 60 people who now form the band, and they range from university age to the 70s, with most of them being middle-aged people.
